Gold did not know that Heiduo had an ultra-luxurious base on Mt. Silver. Grinning, he assumed Heiduo was planning to camp on the mountain just like them.

Not wanting to bring two grown men home and have to answer all sorts of tedious questions, Heiduo saw the two carrying tents and planning to pitch them on the mountain. He could only think they were insane.
The cold winds atop Mt. Silver in winter were bone-chilling.
To keep those two idiots from freezing to death, Heiduo thoughtfully found them a spot and set up a Secret Base for them too. Of course, they had to buy everything inside themselves from the Pokémon Nature Preserve.
After that, it had nothing to do with Heiduo. Red and Gold could handle things themselves. Though he had battled Gold twice as agreed and utterly crushed him both times, the guy never cared about winning or losing. Even after losing, he still wanted another match. Heiduo really did not know what to say to that.
A month passed in a flash.
During that short month, Heiduo, Red, and Gold all learned many Pokémon battling techniques from one another. As the saying went, when three people walked together, one could always be your teacher. Although Gold's Pokémon had low Energy Levels, they still had qualities Heiduo could learn from.
But their behavior made life miserable for the wild Pokémon on the mountain. Back when there had only been Heiduo, they could still greet him with eager smiles. When it was Heiduo and Red, they could barely endure it.
