"Instant... instant kill?"
Everyone stared blankly at Glalie, whose body had burst through the smoke before it collapsed unconscious onto the ground.
Before they could figure out what those three Black Holes had been, Mega Gengar had already condensed an [Aura Sphere] in its mouth and blasted Glalie squarely in the body.
The super-effective double damage, combined with Mega Gengar's absurdly high output, left Glalie unable to resist at all. It passed out amid excruciating pain.
The key was that there had been no warning whatsoever before the Black Holes appeared. It was as though they had vanished out of thin air and appeared out of thin air.
Every move gave some sort of warning before it was used, whether long or short. But those Black Holes had truly shown no sign at all. They had suddenly surfaced—yes, surfaced, rather than opening like vortices.
"A move like that..."
"Of course human eyes can't see it. Only Psychic-type and Ghost-type Pokémon can see the medium of a Black Hole." Heiduo snapped his fingers. Mega Gengar's [Phantom Force] Black Holes used psychic power as their medium. From the moment it opened a Black Hole and slipped inside, the move had already set its landing points.
Creating landing points on the fly was extremely difficult. Even Level Eight [Phantom Force] couldn't manage it, so using this move well put a great deal of pressure on a trainer's ability to predict the battle.
To make up for that weakness, Level Eight Phantom Force granted multiple exits—in other words, the right to choose an exit.
And as long as enough time was spent before using the move, as many exits as desired could be created.
The drawback was equally obvious. As long as Psychic-type and Ghost-type Pokémon spread their psychic power across the entire battlefield
