"You and Zou Xue are the last humans I brought into this world."
Arceus spoke calmly, glancing at Heiduo at the same time.
"Live well in this world."
Hearing that, Heiduo fell silent for two seconds. Though he had already understood what Arceus meant, he still asked unwillingly:
"I still want to know why you chose me. Was it a coincidence, or..."
Now that he knew who had brought him to another world, there were questions he could no longer avoid.
For example, had he been reborn after death, or had Arceus pulled him over while he was still alive?
It had nothing to do with what he intended to do after learning the answer. He simply wanted to know.
After all, it concerned him.
"...People dreaming often have no awareness of their bodies in reality. Choosing you was naturally a coincidence as well. Nothing was destined. After seeing the Spacetime Tunnel, you should understand that."
Different worldlines represented different possibilities. In other "worlds," the one brought over might have been someone else, or another "him."
The Arceus before him clearly belonged to some "higher-dimensional" existence that stood above all worldlines and saw every possibility. Logically, there was no way he could observe a being like that.
It could not even really be called a living creature...
But there was no point dwelling on something that was plainly right in front of him.
"What do You mean?"
"The you of the past had worked overtime for too long, stayed up late, sat for extended periods without exercising, and suffered from poor health. Your mind reached its limit, and you died suddenly in your sleep. Also, I did not personally visit your original world. I merely guided you here from there."
Arceus's tone remained even.
Died suddenly.
Heiduo's pupils shrank sharply.
