History
| Period | Event |
|---|---|
| Old Era | Longwind Fortress was a military outpost built near the Abyss Rift to resist the Abyssal Black Tide. As darkness spread, the outside world presumed its defenders had perished. 150 348 |
| Early Dark Age | Survivors under Lincon developed the fortress into a protected settlement, rebuilding land, housing, agriculture, and defenses while accepting refugees and defeated factions. 113 137 185 |
| Rise in Jiangzhou | Flint City’s failed invasion and collapse made Longwind Fortress widely known. It surpassed Black Iron City and New River City in reputation, drawing merchants, adventurers, refugees, and independent squads. 137 150 |
| City conversion | Zhang Rui proposed replacing “Fortress” with “City,” arguing that the settlement had become a growing center of population, agriculture, Spirit Plants, and Rune Industry rather than a purely military outpost. Lincon approved the proposal. 219 |
| Official renaming | On the first day of the sixth Dark Era year, after the Ash Snow stopped, Longwind Fortress was formally renamed Longwind City. Existing laws, Subject statuses, and systems remained in force. 220 |
| Regional expansion | Longwind City centralized Jiangzhou’s transportation routes, secured resource areas, and extended its influence through trade, protection, and military deterrence. 358 377 |
| Great Wall resettlement | After the Great Wall Defense Line fell, Lincon brought roughly 70,000 survivors to the city. They entered as Temporary Subjects and were to advance through the established contribution system. 437 445 |
| Jianmu Civilization | Following the rain of light and widespread Spirit Plant evolution, Longwind City introduced regulations governing human–Spirit Plant symbiosis and began openly pursuing civilizational growth rather than secrecy. 448 |
Appearance & Layout
Longwind City is a plant-integrated city whose crimson walls are covered in blue-green vines and massive flowers. Crystal Ring giant trees rise behind its defenses, while luminous Spirit Plants keep the city active through the Dark Age’s long nights. 443 446
- Outer City — Originated from temporary camps and shack districts outside the old fortress walls. It contains trade streets, visitor facilities, warehouses, markets, taverns, and most external commerce. 280 344
- Inner City — The administrative and residential core, containing Formal Subject housing, state-run shops, departmental headquarters, and the Sacred Court. 237 270
- Sacred Court — The city’s spiritual and administrative center. It is built around the Crystal Ring Mother Tree and connected to six Crystal Ring giant trees that function as defensive guardians and information conduits. 316 451
- Green Carpet Zone — The increasingly green and energy-rich region surrounding Longwind Territory, sharply contrasting with the Dark-Eroded wasteland beyond it. 315 334
- Outer-city trade district — Established after the Gray Feather Squad became the first independent wilderness group to trade with the fortress. It regulates outside access while supporting commerce. 150
Landmarks

Governance & Law
Longwind City is governed by Lincon, whose authority is reinforced through the Longwind Code, territorial rules, and a contribution-based social system. The Governing Hall manages administration, while major policy is decided through the Longwind Council. 113 316
Longwind Code
The Code begins with three absolute principles:
The Code also regulates secrecy, public conduct, labor, resource protection, rewards, punishments, Subject promotion, and security. Residents may reject the Code and leave, but those who remain must accept its authority. 113 147
Subject System
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Temporary Subject | Initial status commonly assigned to new arrivals and resettled populations. |
| Provisional Subject | A resident working toward full recognition through contributions and conduct. |
| Formal Subject | A fully recognized resident eligible for Inner City access, assigned housing, and expanded rights. 113 185 236 |
- Contribution Points determine rewards, punishments, promotion eligibility, and advancement opportunities. 113 239
- The Myriad-Knowledge Dome, a Crystal Ring Mother Tree branch, records identity, permissions, contributions, rewards, and punishments. It registers details of a Subject’s body and soul. 239
- Visitors must register and receive temporary identification. Visitor information must be renewed every three days or the visitor may be expelled. 280
- Newcomers entering through the gates surrender firearms but may retain cold weapons for self-defense. 181
Jianmu Civilization Regulations
Following the emergence of increasingly conscious Spirit Plants, Longwind City established rules for Symbiosis Contracts.
- Human–Spirit Plant partnerships must be registered and assessed by Qingrang Academy.
- New partnerships undergo a one-year trial period before becoming permanent.
- Humans may not retaliate against Spirit Plants if trust collapses; contracts must be dissolved through official procedures.
- The Crystal Ring Mother Tree monitors registered contracts, while a Spirit Plant Compendium records each plant’s identity and status. 448

- Luminous Spirit Plants illuminate streets, fields, and buildings during the Dark Age’s extended nights. 284 446

- The city’s environment has expanded beyond its original borders, creating the Green Carpet Zone and increasing ambient energy across Jiangzhou. 321 450
- The rain of light caused mass ecological change: Spirit Plants evolved, 1,731 people awakened abilities, and about eighty-five existing ability users advanced in rank. 448
- Light Sprites live freely among the Sunlight Sunflower Fields, pollinating and protecting the plants in exchange for nectar and pollen. 446
