Richard put on his hood and stood calmly in the middle of the CEO's office.
Weitzler hid behind the alloy desk and dialed the security chief's phone. "Jim, send a helicopter to the outside of the CEO's office right now."
"Boss, I'm leading men toward the CEO's office. What on earth is happening over there?" Jim's voice was hurried, accompanied by bursts of running footsteps.
"One sentence can't explain it, send the helicopter right over!" Weitzler said, hanging up the phone.
"You don't need to be nervous, Mr. Weitzler," Richard consoled him unhurriedly. "Before I finish wiping out your subordinates, I won't make a move against you."
"Fuck!" Weitzler cursed under his breath, gripping his pistol tightly. This was his only reliance now. "Can we really not negotiate peace, Mr. Magician?"
"Sorry, the quest publisher is already dead, the quest cannot be canceled."
Clatter, clatter, clatter~
Whoosh~
The first wave of operatives rushed out of the elevator quickly, simultaneously raising their guns to aim at Richard.
"Drop your weapon!"
Richard hooked the corners of his mouth beneath his hood, slowly spreading his arms to signal that he had no weapons.
"Raise your hands, kneel on the ground!" The second wave of operatives who ran up the stairs shouted at Richard, raising their guns.
Richard obediently raised his hands.
Bang!
Crash, rattle~
The exterior wall glass of the CEO's office shattered, and ten fully armed operatives jumped in.
"Lie on the ground! Don't make any unnecessary movements!"
These operatives, who had rappelled down from the roof, shouted at Richard, raising their guns.
CEO Weitzler saw that the situation was entirely under control and slowly stood up from behind the desk.
"Mr. Magician, I still hope we can negotiate peace."
Despite dozens of guns aiming at Richard, his heart was still faintly uneasy.
Richard asked an irrelevant question, "Are your people all here?"
Weitzler subconsciously looked toward Jim, the security chief beside him.
Jim nodded and said, "Except for the few squads sent out on assignments, everyone else is here."
"Very good~" A satisfied smile appeared on Richard's face.
He formed hand seals, his feet slowly leaving the ground, and pairs of arms unfolded behind his back like a thousand-handed Guanyin.
Weitzler was horrified; his expression instantly turned ferocious, and pointing at Richard, he roared frantically, "Fire, shoot immediately!"
Jim was also startled, immediately pressing his earpiece and shouting orders, "Everyone, fire!"
Rat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat!
Dozens of automatic weapons opened fire on Richard simultaneously, strands of yellow bullet chains weaving into an orange-yellow rain curtain that spilled over Richard.
This scene could be called magnificent!
However, the next second, a layer of glowing white spherical barrier surfaced outside Richard's body, and the orange-yellow barrage pounded fiercely against the spherical barrier, doing nothing else aside from transforming into small yellow sparks.
Richard's spellcasting motion completed, his figure flashing rapidly as dozens of clones rushed out from within his body.
"Now it's my turn!" Dozens of Richard's voices echoed within the office, as majestic as deities.
The next second, dozens of energy whips shot out, swimming rapidly in the air like snakes and precisely finding every single operative.
"What the fuck? What is this damn thing?!" Jim shouted in shock, looking at the energy whip winding around his body.
Other operatives looked at the energy whips wrapped around their bodies and struggled hard, but the harder they struggled, the tighter the binding of the energy whips became.
Weitzler looked down at himself, unscathed, the unease in his heart reaching its peak.
"Mr. Magician, the Red Mountain Group is willing to pay any price, just asking you to stop!"
As if he hadn't heard, Richard shouted in a deep voice.
"Atonement, scum!"
As the words fell, the energy whips instantly contracted.
"NO!!!" Weitzler's eyes split open in despair as he watched with his own eyes the security guards shielding him howling as the tightening energy whips cleaved them in half from the waist!
"Urgh, ah!"
"No!"
"Oh God!"
Successive screams, sharp yet abrupt.
A moment later, the overwhelming energy whips dissipated, leaving only the operatives who had not yet completely died howling in pain as they marched toward death.
"Help, help me!" Jim, who was left with only his upper body, crawled to Weitzler's side, reached out to grab his trouser leg tightly, and pleaded, "Give me a quick death!"
Weitzler aimed the muzzle at Jim's forehead, closing his eyes as he pulled the trigger.
Bang!
Jim's head jolted, a trace of relief flashing through his gradually dimming eyes, and he slowly loosened his hand gripping Weitzler's trouser leg.
Weitzler looked blankly at his surroundings.
The cavernous CEO's office had instantly turned into a living hell. The intense rusted iron scent lingering in the air, large splashes of crimson spattered across the walls and floor, scattered human remains everywhere, and the endless painful wails of those severed at the waist.
Richard's magical clones quietly dissipated, and his true body slowly landed before Weitzler.
"Now only you are left, Mr. Weitzler."
"Kill me..." Weitzler said with lifeless eyes.
"As you wish~"
Squish~
The glowing white Holy Sword pierced into Weitzler's chest. The moment he drew his last breath, a final spark of energy burst from the blade, igniting his corpse.
Richard surveyed the tragic state inside the office, frowning with a trace of discomfort.
"To ordinary people, magic is simply a-dimensional reduction strikes."
"From now on in human society, it's best to avoid using this kind of magic as much as possible."
He raised a hand to draw a circle, preparing to leave, when his expression suddenly shifted.
"Hmm? My spirituality has changed!"
Richard carefully sensed the spirituality flowing within his soul, seemingly faintly transmitting a trace of inexplicable fluctuation.
He raised his hand to construct the Holy Sword once again; the originally pale-white halo was now tainted with an indistinct blush.
"Is the divine power's color shifting from white to red? What does this represent?"
"Whatever, I'd better go back and consult The Ancient One."
Richard stepped into the portal and left.
The CEO's office plunged into complete silence as the wails gradually faded away.
Suddenly, a mechanical female voice sounded.
"Host confirmed, CEO Weitzler is deceased. Opening satellite transmission channel. Target: Johannesburg Branch. Information transmitting..."
Kepler Airport.
Lin dragged her luggage to the bar in the waiting hall.
"Waiter, a glass of lemonade."
"Give me a glass of lemonade too~"
Beside her, Richard removed his hood and said to the waiter with a smile.
A look of pleasant surprise appeared on Lin's face.
"Richard! It's you! It's really great to see you're okay!"
Richard shrugged and said casually, "I said 'that's not necessarily true'~"
"I saw the reports..." Lin stopped the moment she began, observing her surroundings vigilantly before continuing in a low voice, "The headquarters of the Red Mountain Group was attacked, and everyone including CEO Weitzler and all operatives died..."
"Was it really you?!"
The waiter brought over two glasses of lemonade. Richard accepted them and casually handed one to Lin.
Taking a gentle sip, he then said unhurriedly, "I promised Richard I would help him get revenge."
Lin was so shocked her mouth parted slightly, and she pursued, "You did it alone?"
Richard nodded. "I'm used to fighting alone."
"This is simply crazy!" Lin shook her head in disbelief. "How on earth did you pull it off?"
Richard looked at Lin, a spark suddenly igniting in his heart.
"Perhaps we should find a place to get a drink~"
