Bibi Dong and Ling Jing faced the tournament’s rivals as the Ice Empress joined them and demonstrated her strength. After Bibi Dong won the final against Thunderclap Academy, Yu Xiaogang publicly accused Ling Jing and Spirit Hall, but his claims collapsed and he was sent to prison.

• Bibi Dong defeated Zhao Wuji without releasing her Soul Rings, and Tang Yuehua agreed to move Moonlight Pavilion to Spirit City with Tang Xiao and Tang Hao’s support.
• The Ice Empress reunited with Ling Jing and agreed to stay near him, teach him to use his Martial Soul, and follow Bibi Dong’s conditions.
• The Ice Empress defeated Yu Yuanzhen when he threatened Ling Jing, then accepted a public identity as a Spirit Hall Elder and startled the Heaven Dou leaders with her strength.
• Yu Xiaogang arrived in Spirit City to disgrace Ling Jing, but Ling Yuan barred him until Ling Jing permitted his entry, and the Ice Empress frightened him into wetting himself.
• Ling Jing revealed his Mirror Beast Emperor Martial Soul and four Soul Rings, then used his clones to defeat Tiankui Academy alone and advance the Spirit Hall Team to the championship match.
• Bibi Dong entered the final against Thunderclap Academy and revealed four purple and four black Soul Rings before defeating all seven opponents and winning the championship.
• Yu Xiaogang accused Ling Jing of seducing Bibi Dong, disabling him, and hiding a method that raised Soul Ring ages, but Ling Jing knocked him unconscious and Qian Xunji rejected his claims.
• Ling Jing proposed sending Yu Xiaogang to Spirit Hall’s prison, Bibi Dong supported the punishment, and Qian Xunji ordered Yu Xiaogang imprisoned until he repented.

Ling Jing secured Dugu Bo’s loyalty, brought Ah Yin to Spirit Hall, and became entangled in conflict with the Clear Sky Sect while Bibi Dong advanced through Slaughter City. The arc left the sects gathering in Spirit City for the ranking tournament as Ling Jing waited for Bibi Dong’s return.

• Qian Xunji punished the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan and announced that Spirit City would host the Sect Ranking Tournament in six months, while Ling Jing imprisoned Yu Xiaogang with Scarface.
• Bibi Dong confessed her love to Ling Jing, then left for Slaughter City to complete the Evil God's trial, where she entered the Hell Slaughter Arena and won her sixtieth match.
• Ling Jing brought Ice Empress to the Icefire Yin Yang Well and forced Dugu Bo to join Spirit Hall by promising a cure for the poison afflicting him and his son.
• Ling Jing encountered Ah Yin in Heaven Dou City and acknowledged her identity as a transformed Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Ferocious Beast, but Tang Xiao and Tang Hao intervened.
• Ice Empress defeated the Clear Sky brothers and killed Tang Xiao, while Ling Jing let Tang Hao leave with his brother's body and ordered Dugu Bo to search and burn the corpse.
• Ling Jing returned to Spirit Hall with Ah Yin, and Qian Xunji promised to monitor Slaughter City while preparing for the Sect Ranking Tournament.
• Ling Jing joined Qian Xunji at the tournament venue and learned that Spirit Hall worshippers were competing for allied sects as Tang Zhen and two elders arrived in Spirit City.

Bibi Dong completed several of the Evil God’s trials, killed Tang Chen, and reunited with Ling Jing. Ling Jing gained the Sky Dream Ice Silkworm’s power and contracted with the Three-Eyed Golden Lion, drawing the attention of Di Tian and the forest’s Ferocious Beasts.

• At the Sect Ranking Tournament, the Clear Sky Sect fell out of the Upper Three Sects while the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect secured third place, and Tang Zhen sealed the sect’s mountain gates.
• Bibi Dong completed the Hell Road and earned the Evil God’s Domain, a God-Given Soul Ring, and the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger Wings, then returned to Slaughter City to devour its inhabitants.
• Bibi Dong killed Tang Chen, completed her transformation into the Evil God Eight Wings, and rejected the Asura God’s offer of inheritance, earning the Evil God’s praise and a God-Given Soul Ring and Evil God Hook.
• Bibi Dong reunited with Ling Jing at Slaughter City’s exit, and the group traveled to the Star Dou Great Forest to find a Soul Beast for Ling Jing’s fifth Soul Ring.
• The Ice Empress forced the Sky Dream Ice Silkworm to sacrifice himself to Ling Jing, who absorbed his Soul Ring and gained Soul Shock, Mental Interference, and a major increase in Soul Power and spiritual strength.
• Ling Jing contracted with the Three-Eyed Golden Lion and copied her Three-Eyed Golden Lion and Golden Dragon Martial Souls, while their fortunes, fates, and memories intertwined.
• The Scarlet King confronted Ling Jing’s group, but the Three-Eyed Golden Lion stopped him from attacking, so he summoned Di Tian, who arrived and urged the Auspicious Beast to move away from Ling Jing.
