The Immortal Pool Nurtured His Body, Breaking Through to Dao Severing

After the terrain of the Ninety-Nine Dragon Mountains gradually took shape in the Source World, another year of wind and rain passed in the blink of an eye. Nearly two years had gone by since Jiang Yun arrived on Earth.

During that time, the cultivation world of the Central Lands had experienced much because of Jiang Yun and his companions. They had also brought it news of—and hope for—traveling beyond this domain.

Jiang Yun had first revealed his cultivation and made his name known throughout the Central Lands. Then he led its cultivators in a purge of the Western Lands and fought an earth-shaking battle at the Vatican. His descent upon the West had been like a myth from ancient times.

After reaching the threshold of Dao Severing, Jiang Yun had traveled the world whenever he was not cultivating at the Ascension Ground. Wherever he went, he received the grandest welcome.

At Daoism's ancestral court on Mount Longhu, he investigated the Burial Grounds laid out by Rong Chengzi. Outside Chisongzi's sword-practice pool, he glimpsed the splendor of the sword immortal's path. He visited one ancient site after another and discussed the Dao with the so-called ancient Qi Refiners. Though he rarely found an equal, he obtained portions of the Daoist Canon left by ancient sages.

Some of those texts were incomplete, but they still helped Jiang Yun greatly. The Central Lands had been profoundly shaped by the ancient Qi Refiners, and their writings preserved many unique mysteries.
