Alice

"Alice, good morning!"

Rosalie lay in bed and waved to the little girl in greeting.

"Good morning, Rosalie!"

The little girl waved back, then held up a sign reading "Today's Schedule" and loudly reminded Rosalie, "You and Mark are going to Bell Film Company for an audition today. Don't forget!"

The little girl on the monitor was Alice, Mark's own intelligent program that he had created over the past few days.

Mark had created Alice's appearance by combining the best features of many famous Hollywood child stars.

Due to a lack of hardware support, Alice was currently all show and no substance, useful only for everyday tasks.

If she was used for even slightly complex calculations, Alice would lack processing power and respond very slowly.

As for carrying out cyberattacks and defenses like JARVIS, that required even greater computing power, something Alice was even less capable of doing.

Still, Rosalie had gradually gotten used to Alice's presence.

"Alice, play me a soothing song."

Rosalie spoke to Alice as she got dressed and climbed out of bed.

"Okay, Rosalie."

As Alice's voice fell, a slow, soothing country song began playing in the bedroom.

"Country roads, take me home."

"To the place I belong..."

Alice on the monitor danced gracefully along with the music.

"Baby, you're a genius!"

After Mark got up, Rosalie hugged him and gave him a fierce kiss. "Mom really loves Alice. It feels like I have another daughter!"

"Alice has only just been created, and she still needs constant improvement. In the future, she'll handle everything in the house and become a true intelligent housekeeper."

Mark explained his plans for Alice.

Of course, to make those plans a reality, Mark first needed to earn money—a lot of money—so he could afford all the hardware needed to upgrade Alice.

He had originally wanted to make antivirus software or provide cybersecurity services to other companies for money.

Unfortunately, after learning that S.H.I.E.L.D. might be watching him, Mark no longer dared to use his hacking skills to make money.

"Maybe making some low-budget computer games first could earn me my first pot of gold..."

As he ate breakfast, Mark gradually formed a plan for making money.

He had previously considered launching Facebook or other software and websites that would become hugely popular in the future ahead of time.

But then he realized that he had no funds at all for promotion. In the end, they would either be acquired by major corporations or copied and imitated by them, leaving him to make a wedding dress for someone else.

But as long as computer games were copyrighted, it would not be so easy for others to imitate or copy them.

After breakfast, mother and son took a taxi to Bell Film Company together.

Caleb had long since decided to use Rosalie and Mark. This audition was merely a formality, meant for the investors and the film company staff to see.

As a result, the audition went smoothly, and Rosalie signed a contract with Bell Film Company immediately afterward.

"This is the complete script. Take it back and prepare. In a month, you'll head to New York with the crew for filming."

Caleb handed the complete script to Rosalie. After reminding the two of them to keep it confidential, he let the mother and son leave.

On the way home, Mark casually flipped through the script in the taxi and memorized every word without missing a single one.

The movie was called "Dreamland Children's Park."

The plot was simple. It told the story of a single mother who worked at Dreamland Children's Park and struggled to support her child through hard work.

Every scene in the movie was filmed inside Dreamland Children's Park.

The movie followed two storylines. One was from the single mother's perspective, telling of how she lived in the employee dormitory with her five-year-old son, left early and returned late every day for work, and raised her child alone.

The other storyline was filmed from the child's perspective. After his mother went to work, he would sneak out of the dormitory by himself and run wild throughout the children's park.

The first storyline was oppressive and somber, while the second was lively and cheerful, creating a stark contrast.

Many things happened in between—kindness, comedy, bitterness, family affection, warmth...

It ended happily as well, a standard Hollywood movie.

"There are actually so many lines and scenes!"

After returning home, Rosalie flipped through the thick script with a deeply troubled expression.

It was her first time playing a leading role, and only then did she realize just how many scenes a protagonist had.

Rosalie was not a professional actress, nor had she received any formal training.

She had to memorize her lines and scenes while also figuring out how to perform them. It really was too difficult for Rosalie!

After all, she was just an ordinary person. She did not have a Super Brain at Mark's LV6 level.

"Mom, I'll help you!"

Seeing Rosalie's troubled expression, Mark volunteered to help.

"Baby, how are you going to help Mom?"

Rosalie immediately looked expectant.

She had always had great confidence in her exceptionally intelligent son.

"Mom, just wait and see!"

Mark sat down at the computer with a confident look and began writing code.

Over the next week, Mark created a video-generation program and a voice-reading program.

The video-generation program could automatically pull relevant pictures from the internet based on descriptions, then generate videos from those pictures.

The voice-reading program could also use voices of different ages and genders to simulate different emotions and speak all kinds of dialogue based on descriptions.

Mark first applied both programs to Alice.

As a result, Alice could perform more complex and fluid movements, and her speech sounded more emotional as well.

"Alice, generate the movie based on the script for 'Dreamland Children's Park.'"

Mark gave Alice the command.

"Okay. Beginning movie generation. Estimated time required: eighteen hours."

Alice quickly responded.

"The computing power of this computer at home is still too low."

Mark shook his head helplessly, but he could only wait.

When the movie was generated the next day, Mark immediately opened it and began watching.

The entire movie had been generated according to the script by first pulling various images from the internet and then creating videos from them, so the splicing was rather obvious.

The characters in the movie also used the faces of those famous Hollywood actors, but their expressions were somewhat stiff and wooden.

Mark had only just created his intelligent program, so flaws were inevitable. It still needed constant training and growth.

But overall, the movie had fully brought the script to life.

"Mom..."

Mark called over Rosalie, who was still forcing herself to memorize her lines, and had her watch the newly generated movie.

"Oh, my God! Mark, how did you do this?"

When Rosalie saw "Dreamland Children's Park" playing on the computer, her eyes widened in disbelief.

If Mark had not told her it had been made using a computer, she would have thought "Dreamland Children's Park" had truly already been filmed and released!
