"What's going on?"
Mark frowned as he was abruptly awakened.
The large screen in his room lit up, displaying footage captured by a drone.
More than a dozen black-clad men in hoods, armed with guns, were advancing menacingly toward Clem Street.
Mark's heart skipped a beat, and he immediately went on alert.
He quickly got dressed, opened his door, and walked out.
Mark first went to the nearby surveillance room, where he found Michael and his men.
They had clearly received Alice's warning as well and had gathered there to discuss how to respond.
At that moment, everyone's attention was fixed on one of the large screens in the surveillance room.
It showed the same drone footage Mark had just seen.
"Mark!"
When Mark entered, Michael and the other bodyguards greeted him.
"Who are these guys?"
Mark pointed at the black-clad men in the footage, who were drawing closer and closer to Clem Street.
"Judging by their weapons, most of them are carrying Glock 17s and TEC-9s, weapons commonly used by gangs..."
Though it was late at night, the drone footage was clear, and Michael recognized their weapons.
Mark also noticed that the black-clad men seemed to be targeting Mrs. Weston's home, which was not far from his own.
His voice turned cold. "They must be those Mexicans who just formed the Iron Blood Gang. They really have no respect for the rules!"
Mark had recently looked into the matter and discovered that the ongoing clashes near Clem District were between the newly formed Mexican Iron Blood Gang and the Colin Street Gang, made up of local Los Angeles residents.
After Mrs. Weston had been shot some time ago, she had remained in the hospital recovering.
After she was discharged, Mr. Weston questioned nearby witnesses and concluded that the Iron Blood Gang had accidentally shot her.
Mr. Weston then took the Iron Blood Gang directly to court, demanding five hundred thousand dollars in medical expenses and various other damages.
Such things were actually quite normal.
Take the local Colin Street Gang, for example. Though it was nominally a gang, it was much like any legitimate business: it paid taxes and was punished for breaking the law.
But now, it was clear that the Iron Blood Gang did not follow the rules as closely as the Colin Street Gang.
They had actually brought guns directly into a residential neighborhood to cause trouble for the Westons.
"Mark, should we get involved?"
Michael asked for Mark's opinion.
Although Mark was young, Michael and the other bodyguards now knew that Mark was the one who truly made the decisions in the house.
"We have to! If we just stand by and watch the Iron Blood Gang persecute the Westons, they'll only grow more lawless in the future!"
After a brief moment of thought, Mark immediately made his decision. "Michael, get ready. Once they break into the Weston house, take them all out."
Aside from the fact that Mrs. Weston had always been kind to him, Mark also wanted to lay down rules for the Iron Blood Gang and make them rein themselves in from now on.
Otherwise, if they dared to target the Westons tonight, they would dare to target other homes tomorrow, including Mark's.
"Understood, Mark!"
Michael nodded and accepted Mark's order.
With their equipment and strength, they did not take a mere dozen gangsters seriously at all.
Michael immediately ordered his bodyguards into action and began making arrangements.
Two snipers were positioned on high ground to the left and right of the Weston house, creating a crossfire.
The other bodyguards hid around the area to prevent the attackers from escaping after they were hit.
Michael personally remained in the surveillance room, directing the entire operation.
The Weston yard had not been renovated and still had the same old iron fence around it.
The gangsters easily climbed over the wall and entered the yard.
"Sniper positions, fire!"
This was the moment Michael had been waiting for, and he decisively gave the order to attack.
The moment those gangsters climbed into the yard, they had already violated the Castle Doctrine.
Michael and his men would not be breaking the law by shooting them dead. They would instead be acting in defense of others.
Bang! Bang!
As the two shots rang out, two gang members who had approached the house and were about to force their way inside were struck in the chest. They screamed and fell to the ground.
Inside the house, the Westons were jolted awake by the gunfire.
"Who's there?!"
The couple cried out in panic and switched on the lights.
"Snipers! Find cover!"
The gang leader shouted a warning.
The other gang members frantically searched for cover.
They could not understand it. They had only come to deal with an elderly couple, so how had they suddenly run into snipers?
Bang, bang, bang!
Unable to locate the snipers in the darkness, they could only fire wildly toward the source of the gunshots.
"Sean, Hans, circle around from the nine o'clock direction and attack them from behind!"
Michael watched the gang members' movements through the drone while issuing orders to his bodyguards.
"Yes, boss!"
After receiving the order, the two bodyguards quickly circled behind the gang members.
Rat-a-tat-tat! Rat-a-tat-tat...
The two men pulled their triggers at the same time and opened fire.
"Ah! Ah!"
The gang members, who had been trying to evade the snipers, never expected an attack from behind and suffered devastating losses in an instant.
Four died on the spot, while two others were seriously wounded.
The three remaining gang members no longer cared about their mission. Scrambling in panic, they climbed over the wall in an attempt to escape.
Bang! Bang!
As the sniper shots rang out, two gang members climbing the wall were hit in the back, their bodies left hanging from the fence.
When the last gang member climbed over the wall, a black gun barrel was waiting for him. "Don't move!"
This bodyguard had been stationed outside precisely to prevent any stragglers from escaping.
Americans were highly sensitive to gunfire. With such an intense firefight breaking out at the Weston house, everyone in the neighborhood was awakened.
"What's going on?! Where are the shots coming from?"
"Something happened! Call the police!"
"..."
Some people panicked, while others hurriedly called the police.
Rosalie, who had been asleep, was naturally awakened as well.
She hurriedly put on her nightclothes and quickly found Mark after coming outside.
"Mark, what happened? It sounds like something happened at the Weston house?"
She asked anxiously.
"The Iron Blood Gang came to cause trouble for the Westons. I had Michael and the others help them. Those Iron Blood Gang members should be dealt with by now."
Mark told Rosalie what had happened earlier.
"It's good that the Westons are all right."
Only after hearing that the matter had been resolved did Rosalie let out a sigh of relief.
Woo—wah! Woo—wah!
At that moment, piercing police sirens sounded as they approached Clem District.
To avoid a conflict with the police due to a misunderstanding, Michael immediately withdrew the bodyguards outside.
Only the bodyguard named Ross and the gang member he had captured were left behind to deal with the police.
"Don't move! Police!"
"Hands up!"
"..."
Seven or eight police cars stopped outside the Weston house, and dozens of officers rushed out, aiming their guns at Ross and the gang member beside him.
