Ch. 421Dharma King Comes to the Rescue; Outrageously Urgent (Part 2)
Summary
Plot points and events
Little Fox recognizes that the old man before her is likely Yin-Yang Dharma King and notices his indirect reference to Qingqiu, suggesting he knows her true identity. The Su Family also realizes that this mysterious visitor is the long-absent daughter of Yin-Yang Dharma King—the “young madam” connected to Su Che. Yin-Yang Dharma King dismisses the household servants and seals the area so he can speak with Little Fox privately. He warns her that killing Li Hong and becoming publicly associated with the Su Residence could expose her identity and create serious trouble. When she claims she is not necessarily planning to kill Li Hong, he changes tactics and invents an elaborate story: Su Che and he are secretly working for the Mount Zhong Association to bring the Ancient Netherworld into the world, and Su Che supposedly lost memories of Little Fox while escaping Ancient Luofeng City through the Sin Mirror. Little Fox immediately recognizes the explanation as absurd. At the end, Su Che arrives at the residence and senses danger amid the unusually festive commotion.
Character developments
Little Fox is shown to be perceptive, composed, and difficult to manipulate. She catches the significance of Yin-Yang Dharma King’s hints, refuses to confirm her identity, and sees through his fabricated explanation. Yin-Yang Dharma King is revealed as both politically experienced and deeply exasperated: despite his intimidating status, he is forced to clean up Su Che’s romantic and personal complications. Su Fu and Su Lu become aware of Little Fox’s importance and retreat rather than risk offending her. Su Che remains absent for most of the chapter but is portrayed as the source of the trouble Yin-Yang Dharma King is trying to manage.
Significant themes
The chapter emphasizes hidden identities, deception, and the danger of public reputation. Personal relationships are entangled with political institutions such as the Mount Zhong Association and the Su Family. It also uses humor and absurdity to contrast the grand language of ancient realms and secret missions with the embarrassing reality of trying to conceal a romantic scandal. Memory and identity are important motifs, especially through the fabricated claim that Su Che’s memories of Little Fox were sacrificed.
Character interactions
Little Fox and Yin-Yang Dharma King engage in a tense, indirect conversation filled with coded references. He tries to intimidate or persuade her into staying hidden, while she calmly challenges his claims and refuses to be drawn into openly acknowledging their relationship. The servants and Su Family members react nervously to the revelation of her identity and quickly withdraw. Yin-Yang Dharma King repeatedly blames Su Che internally for creating the situation, while Little Fox’s skepticism exposes the weakness of his story. The chapter closes by setting up a confrontation between Little Fox, Yin-Yang Dharma King, and the newly arrived Su Che.
