At Wangshu Pavilion, Su Lin stared down expressionlessly. Klein was leading the eldritch Servants up the mountain steps on a tour of Water Mirror Peak, chatting animatedly with several of them.
"Miss Williams, here you are. The honey cotton candy is ready. I have a sweet tooth myself, so I'm not sure whether it'll suit your taste."
"Miss BB, would you like a glass of wine? This Moonlight from the otherworldly Lavelle Estate would complement your eyes beautifully."
With his courteous, friendly, gentle manner, and his vest, shirt, and black evening coat, even a Backlund noble would have called him a gentleman of high society.
"Isn't the old film set still up on Water Mirror Peak? Several scenes were shot here, so I thought I'd bring them to see it." Klein's Marionette appeared beside Su Lin and explained:
"Given the Three Pillar Gods' standing, they couldn't possibly mistake me for Azathoth. Something may be confusing them, but once they come here, they'll realize everything in the movie was fiction."
"Then the misunderstanding will be cleared up. Everybody wins."
Klein usually holed up in his rented apartment playing video games, drinking soda, and using divination to pull from gacha pools. But when it mattered, he could still be counted on. He was the lone hero who had saved the world, after all.
"Is BB the quiet, reserved type?" Lu Mingfei lowered his binoculars and asked curiously. "Isn't she acting out of character?"
Klein's Marionette said, "It's a formal occasion. Miss BB is probably playing the part. Don't make a fuss. This is reality, not a game."
Below them, Cthugha's Flame Essence carried over an elegant wooden tray of traditional Chinese pastries. Its flickering blue flames harmed nothing as it swam toward Klein like a fish.
