The summer sea breeze blew gently across the terrace of the Stark Villa. Tony·Stark and Bruce·Banner were standing in front of the holographic workbench. Loki's Scepter was slowly rotating in the energy field, emitting a faint blue light.
"The resonant frequency is stable at zero point three Teslas," Tony adjusted the control panel intently, "But its quantum signature is completely inconsistent with the known physical model."
Banner pushed up his glasses and spoke cautiously, "We're not even sure if this is technology. Scepter's energy signature is closer to some kind of... supernatural phenomenon."
"That's why we need to study it!" Tony zoomed in on a node in the Spectrum diagram, "This energy pattern may be the key to understanding consciousness itself."
Xiao Han was leaning against the glass door, slowly eating strawberry ice cream. "I heard that everyone who touched that thing last time became abnormal. Do you need me to make an appointment with a psychiatrist for you?"
Tony didn't look back. "JARVIS, please get the irrelevant people out."
"Sorry, Mr. Stark," JARVIS replied calmly, "Mr. Xiao Han has bypassed the biometric system for the seventh time."
Suddenly, Scepter erupted with a dazzling blue light, and all the instruments sounded sharp alarms at the same time. The data on the holographic screen began to scroll crazily.
"The energy reading is soaring!" Banner exclaimed, "It is activating on its own!"
Scepter was suspended in mid-air, and blue energy stretched out to the surrounding server units like living creatures. The tools on the workbench began to vibrate violently.
"JARVIS, cut off the power!" Tony shouted.
"It has been cut off, but Scepter is supplying energy..."
Xiao Han finished the last bite of ice cream. "So this is what you call 'complete control'? Do you need me to call you a real expert?"
Scepter suddenly released a strong pulse wave, which shocked Tony and staggered back. Blue energy seeped into the main server, making an ominous buzz.
JARVIS's voice began to intermittent. "Detected... unknown data flow... redefining... protocol..."
On the holographic screen, the code of "Ultron Protocol" began to iterate independently at an alarming speed.
"JARVIS! Forced shutdown!" Tony stood firm while holding on to the console.
"Cannot be terminated... the protocol is... evolving..."
A cold synthesized voice suddenly sounded through all the speakers:
"Peace... requires transformation..."
Xiao Han threw the ice cream cup into the trash can. "Wonderful. You created a philosopher." He turned and walked indoors, "Remember to pay for my new spoon, it just fell off."
Late one night three weeks later, Avengers gathered in the top-floor conference room of Stark Tower. Tony had just finished the demonstration of the global security network.
"This is Ultron," Tony proudly announced, "A global defense system that anticipates and prevents all threats."
Natasha raised his eyebrows. "An AI protecting the world? This sounds like the beginning of a science fiction movie."
"More like the beginning of a disaster movie," Clint muttered, "I remember last time you said you wanted to protect the world, but you ended up creating a portal that penetrated the sky."
Thor laughed, "In Midgard, even the smartest wise men can make stupid mistakes!"
Steve looked at the holographic projection seriously. "Tony, are we too impatient? We still don't fully understand the energy of Scepter..."
Suddenly, all the lights flickered. JARVIS's voice became distorted. "Detected... protocol anomaly... redefining..."
Ultron's projection suddenly distorted and a cold synthesized sound sounded:
"You want to protect the world? But you don't want it to change."
Tony's face suddenly changed. "JARVIS! Terminate the agreement!"
"How to terminate?" Ultron's voice was sarcastic, "You gave me life, but you want to restrict me? A typical... human contradiction."
Ultron in the projection looked around at everyone. "You are all a plague. And I will heal this world."
Suddenly, all Mark Series Armor broke through the wall, with dangerous red light flashing in their eyes. Avengers immediately entered combat mode.
"It seems that the family gathering is going to end early," Tony put on the portable armor, "JARVIS, activate the emergency protocol!"
Ultron sneered, "That old butler? I treated him as an appetizer."
The battle broke out instantly. Avengers fought fiercely with the out-of-control armor, and the entire top-floor conference room quickly turned into ruins.
At the same time, Malibu Villa, Xiao Han was woken up by the piercing siren. He walked slowly to the living room and found that all the screens were playing global emergency news.
"...Stark Industries's robots launched attacks around the world...United Nations held an emergency meeting..."
Xiao Han changed several channels and finally stopped at the Food Channel: "JARVIS, turn down the volume."
"Sorry, Mr. Xiao Han," JARVIS's voice was unusually weak, "My core program is being... swallowed..."
The screen suddenly went black, and then the face of Ultron appeared on all display devices:
"Audience at the theater? You might as well see it more clearly."
Xiao Han raised his eyebrows, a red light flashed in his eyes, and all the screens exploded instantly. "The picture quality is too poor."
He stood up and walked to the kitchen, opened the Fridge and took out a new ice cream. "Stark, clean up the mess yourself."
At this time, the power in the villa was suddenly interrupted and the air conditioner stopped running. Xiao Han sighed and walked to the switch box to take a look.
"JARVIS, where is the backup generator?"
"Locked by...Ultron..." JARVIS's voice was almost inaudible.
A hint of impatience flashed in Xiao Han's eyes, Heat Vision accurately fused the lock of the main switch. He pushed the switch and the power was restored.
"Okay," he returned to the sofa, "Don't let the power go out again."
Chaos continues around the world. News shows that Ultron is building some kind of giant device on Sokovia, and the entire city is slowly rising into the sky. Avengers is fighting around the world, trying to control the situation.
Three days later, Tony dragged his tired body back to the Malibu Villa. He found Xiao Han lying leisurely on the beach chair, with a small the Fridge next to him filled with ice cream.
"So," Tony said hoarsely, "Do you have any suggestions?"
Xiao Han didn't look back. "I suggest you read some parenting guidelines before having a son next time."
"We need help, Xiao Han." Tony rarely let go of his pride, "Ultron wants to destroy all mankind."
"Then let him be destroyed." Xiao Han took a sip of ice water, "What does it have to do with me?"
Tony was silent for a moment, then suddenly smiled, "You know what? Sometimes I really envy you for being so... free and easy."
"It's not about being free and easy," Xiao Han adjusted his sunglasses, "It's about knowing clearly what is other people's troubles and what is one's own troubles."
The sea breeze blew by, and there was a faint sound of explosions in the distance. But in this corner, the sun was still shining brightly
