Background / History

Thor arrives on Earth through the Bifrost to seize Loki and return him to Asgard. He destroys the Quinjet carrying Loki and rejects Tony Stark’s claim that Earth may judge an Asgardian prince, leading to a battle along the Malibu coast. 12

When Xiao Han orders Thor and Tony to stop disturbing his ice cream, Thor retaliates with lightning. Xiao Han absorbs the attack unharmed, dents Mjolnir with a punch, and drives Thor into a cliff unconscious. The defeat leaves Thor wary of Xiao Han’s power and humbles his previously commanding attitude. 12

Thor nevertheless fights alongside the Avengers during the Battle of New York.
