Xian Lin'er had settled the entire itinerary as soon as she received notice of the assignment.
She raised a hand toward the map spread across the desk and explained.
"I'll take the group out through the north gate and follow the main road to the Sun Moon Empire. The journey should take about twelve days."
"All right." Cai Mei'er nodded, her expression solemn as she gave Xian Lin'er a warning.
"Be careful once you arrive. The Sun Moon Empire is nothing like the original Three Empires.
"Their Soul Guidance Technology is the finest on the continent, but the place is full of intrigue, with trouble lurking everywhere.
"And those twenty students you're taking are young and hotheaded. Keep a tight rein on them. Don't let them cause trouble abroad."
"Don't worry." Xian Lin'er patted her chest, brimming with confidence.
"I know the people I'm leading."
She turned toward the door, but paused halfway there and looked back at Cai Mei'er.
"Oh, right. How's that young girl with the Evil Fire Phoenix doing?"
"Ma Xiaotao?" Cai Mei'er picked up her pen and reopened the student roster. "Lexuan's training with her. She's doing well.
"They both have Innate Full Soul Power. Training together lets them look out for each other, too."
Xian Lin'er nodded. "Good. I'll go get ready."
"Wait."
Cai Mei'er stopped her.
