The expression on Ice Empress's face visibly froze, then she shot Chen Ling a look of embarrassed annoyance.
Her little face puffed up with anger, though there was a hint of shyness in it too.
Every time, Chen Ling used this as an excuse to bully her mercilessly. Just thinking about it made Ice Empress blush. She clearly loved him now, yet he still insisted on keeping such a petty score.
But the proud, prickly Ice Empress would never say that aloud. By the time the words reached her lips, they came out entirely differently.
"Just you wait until tonight." After throwing down that threat, Ice Empress pattered downstairs, her twin ponytails still swinging wildly behind her. Who would have guessed that this proud, prickly little girl had once been one of the Far North Kings, a Ferocious Beast nearly four hundred thousand years old?
Chen Ling paid it no mind. He reached down and lifted a lock of long white hair.
When he lowered his head, a pair of pale blue eyes brimming with moisture gazed quietly up at him.
She did not dare move a muscle. With her mouth blocked, she could not make a sound either, and could only ask with her eyes.
"She's gone. Come on out." Chen Ling gave her a rub, still feeling a little reluctant to stop.
Before long, a graceful figure in white crawled out from beneath the desk. Once Snow Empress emerged, she coughed lightly a few times and frowned, looking somewhat uncomfortable.
"Why were you hiding from Bing'er?" Chen Ling found it rather amusing. It was rare to see Snow Empress looking so guilty.
Snow Empress first took a moment to recover, then rolled her eyes at Chen Ling.
