Jialing Pass

The city walls lay in ruins. Black smoke billowed from the breaches, and fallen bodies and shattered Soul Tools littered the ground. The view swept rapidly over the wreckage before settling on the battlements.

Sword Douluo Chen Xin stood atop the wall. His white robes had lost their original color, soaked through with blood and clinging to his body. He held the Seven Killing Sword in his right hand. Its glow was dimmer than usual, but his grip did not waver.

Behind him, Bone Douluo Gu Ye leaned against half a broken pillar. A large piece of bone armor had shattered off his left shoulder, exposing the mangled flesh beneath.

Words appeared on the Sky Screen:

[The final battle at Jialing Pass] [Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect · Sword Douluo Chen Xin VS Spirit Hall · Bibi Dong]

On the training ground, Ning Fengzhi shot to his feet.

He said nothing. Both hands braced against the edge of the table, knuckles white, he stared at Sword Douluo's figure on the Sky Screen.

In the vision, Bibi Dong approached through the air.

Nine Soul Rings flashed in turn. The pressure radiating from her sent loose stones rolling off the wall. She glanced at Sword Douluo, then at Bone Douluo behind him, before her gaze came to rest on Tang San farther away.

Tang San knelt on one knee, cradling Xiao Wu's body. Blood covered his face; there was no telling whose it was.

Bibi Dong's voice came from the Sky Screen:

[Move aside, Chen Xin. You're not the ones I want.]

Sword Douluo did not move.

He stepped forward, holding the Seven Killing Sword across his body, its tip pointed at Bibi Dong. His lips moved, but the roar of battle drowned out most of his voice.
