Ch. 1Two Fathers

Cao Xin reflected on how the Love God’s trial had made him the son of Tang Sect masters Cao Dezhi and Zang Xin, and how his birth had ended the Martial Soul rejection that had limited their cultivation. On the day after his sixth birthday, his fathers brought him to awaken his Martial Soul, and the ceremony began with Cao Dezhi releasing white light.

  • Cao Xin recalled that he had been born as the reward for Cao Dezhi and Zang Xin’s trials in Qiankun Wenqing Valley.
  • Cao Xin noted that his birth had ended his fathers’ Martial Soul rejection, allowing Cao Dezhi to reach Peak Quasi-God and Zang Xin to reach Quasi-God.
  • Zang Xin told Cao Xin that his Martial Soul awakening ceremony had been arranged for the day after his sixth birthday.
  • Cao Dezhi and Zang Xin joined Cao Xin in the awakening room, where they exchanged affectionate remarks about being his fathers.
  • Cao Xin stood at the center of the array, and Cao Dezhi released pure white light from his right hand.

Ch. 2Sentimental Sword and Ruthless Sword

Cao Xin awakened both Zang Xin’s Sentimental Sword and Cao Dezhi’s Ruthless Sword, then discovered that their Soul Powers complemented each other. After his fathers left to choose his first Soul Spirit, a system bound to Cao Xin and granted him five powerful conceptual abilities.

  • Cao Xin awakened Zang Xin’s Sentimental Sword in his left hand and Cao Dezhi’s Ruthless Sword in his right.
  • Cao Dezhi and Zang Xin praised Cao Xin and left to choose his first Soul Spirit.
  • Cao Xin tested both swords and found that their opposing Soul Powers circulated together without conflict.
  • Cao Xin returned to his room, where the Concept Roulette Draw System bound itself to him.
  • Cao Xin received the abilities Undying Body, Self, Set Facts Aside, Alchemy Furnace, and Cannot Be Defined.

Ch. 3Five Conceptual Abilities

Cao Xin examined five conceptual abilities and chose which ones to keep based on their power and limitations. He marked [Self] as essential and weighed the remaining options, but the chapter ended before he selected his final three.

  • Cao Xin recognized the five abilities as belonging to the child of the era, then learned he could select only three.
  • Cao Xin rejected [Undying Body] because it was mainly defensive and his First Father and Second Father already protected him from most threats.
  • Cao Xin marked [Self] as a mandatory choice because it could gradually make reality align with his beliefs.
  • Cao Xin considered how [Set Facts Aside] could remove the need for firm belief and let [Self] work despite doubt or opposing facts.
  • Cao Xin assessed [Alchemy Furnace] as a way to refine objects into pure Upgrade Pills that guaranteed levels and breakthroughs.
  • Cao Xin began considering [Cannot Be Defined], which would prevent others from defining, observing, or understanding him.

Ch. 4Twisting Reality

Cao Xin rejected an incomprehensible power that would sever his connections with others, then chose Self, Set Facts Aside, and Alchemy Furnace. After testing his ability to transform a book into a cup, he was summoned to meet his fathers, who presented him with two prepared Soul Rings.

  • Cao Xin rejected the power that would make him impossible for others to perceive or understand, choosing to remain human.
  • Cao Xin selected Self, Set Facts Aside, and Alchemy Furnace from the system.
  • Cao Xin used Self and Set Facts Aside to transform a book into a cup with little expenditure of spiritual power and Soul Power.
  • A Tang Sect disciple escorted Cao Xin to a meditation room where Cao Dezhi and Zang Xin were waiting.
  • Cao Dezhi and Zang Xin explained that the Tang Sect's Soul Spirits did not suit Cao Xin's Martial Souls, so they had chosen two upgradeable Soul Rings for him from the Soul Beast Pool.

Ch. 5Breaking Through Twice, Starting at Level Nineteen

Zang Xin and Cao Dezhi gave Cao Xin two Soul Rings they believed would complement each other, and Cao Xin absorbed them one after the other. His Soul Power rose from level ten to level nineteen, leaving him with the abilities Once and Autumn.

  • Zang Xin revealed that his Soul Ring could grant Cao Xin his first Soul Skill, Once, which combined spiritual and time attributes.
  • Cao Dezhi introduced Autumn, a Soul Skill he had chosen to complement Once, but kept its effects secret.
  • After Cao Dezhi and Zang Xin left, Cao Xin absorbed Once and gained five levels, reaching level fifteen.
  • Cao Xin absorbed Autumn, and his Soul Power rose again to level nineteen.

Ch. 6Autumn of the Four Seasons

Cao Xin explored the Late Autumn and Mid-Autumn Sword Intents of his Ruthless Sword after reaching level nineteen, then entered the Spirit Pagoda’s Junior Spirit Ascension Platform with Zang Xin. The chapter left him ready to train in the simulated forest.

  • Cao Xin summoned the Sentimental Sword and Ruthless Sword and recognized autumn as a Sword Intent that could take different forms.
  • Cao Xin demonstrated the Late Autumn Sword Intent, filling the meditation room with a withering, murderous aura.
  • Cao Xin demonstrated the Mid-Autumn Sword Intent, replacing the cold desolation with golden leaves and a feeling of warmth and abundance.
  • Cao Xin reflected that autumn’s distinct intents gave his first Soul Skill many possibilities and looked forward to mastering more seasonal forms.
  • Half a month later, Cao Xin followed Zang Xin into the Spirit Pagoda and used its Junior Spirit Ascension Platform, appearing in a simulated primeval forest.

Ch. 7Things Were Getting Interesting

Cao Xin entered the Junior Spirit Ascension Platform with new Soul Rings and powerful combined abilities, then encountered a Century Earth Armor Bear. Outside, Qian Gu Dongfeng recognized Cao Xin’s Ruthless Sword and offered to send protection, but Zang Xin trusted him as Cao Xin began to face the bear.

  • Cao Xin’s Soul Power reached level twenty-six, and he gained the Winter and Traceback Soul Rings to complement his Autumn Sword Intent and Once Upon a Time skill.
  • Qian Gu Dongfeng recognized Cao Xin’s Ruthless Sword on the surveillance screen and concluded that Cao Xin was related to Cao Dezhi.
  • A Century Earth Armor Bear burst from the bushes and attacked Cao Xin with a powerful paw strike.
  • Qian Gu Dongfeng warned Zang Xin about the bear and offered to send a four-ring Soul Master to protect Cao Xin, but Zang Xin refused, saying Little Xin was stronger than Qian Gu Dongfeng imagined.
  • Cao Xin activated the Autumn and Winter Soul Rings as the bear’s paw descended toward him.

Ch. 8Long Yeyue's Slap

Cao Xin killed a three-hundred-year Earth Armored Bear with one sword and continued absorbing Soul Beast energy as he explored the forest. Outside the platform, Qian Gu Dongfeng recalled the slap Long Yeyue had dealt his father and remained puzzled by its cause.

  • Cao Xin's sword transformed the forest into winter and killed the Earth Armored Bear in one strike, increasing his Soul Ring age by thirty years.
  • Qian Gu Dongfeng expressed surprise that six-year-old Cao Xin had killed the defensive Soul Beast so easily, while Zang Xin tried to hide his pride.
  • Qian Gu Dongfeng remembered Long Yeyue slapping Qiangu Dieting, an incident that broke the alliance between Shrek Academy and the Spirit Pagoda and whose reason remained a mystery.
  • Cao Xin spent three hours fighting Soul Beasts in the forest, killing each with one strike and raising the average age of his two Soul Rings to around three thousand years.
  • Cao Xin continued deeper into the forest without showing strain, supported by the resources and training he had received from the Tang Sect.

Ch. 9Evil Eye Tyrant Race

Cao Xin's extraordinary strength and spiritual power impressed Qian Gu Dongfeng, while his journey through the Junior Spirit Ascension Platform brought him to its three-thousand-year Evil Eye Tyrant guardian. As Cao Xin prepared to fight for its eye-type External Soul Bone, Qian Gu Dongfeng realized Zang Xin had brought him there for that prize.

  • Cao Xin's strength reached over nine hundred kilograms and his spiritual power reached 427 points, the Peak Spirit Connection Realm.
  • Qian Gu Dongfeng watched Cao Xin kill Earth Armored Bears and regretted that the Tang Sect heir could not join the Spirit Pagoda.
  • Cao Xin entered a clearing where other soul beasts had vanished and found the three-thousand-year Evil Eye Tyrant guarding the boundary between Ascension Platform regions.
  • Cao Xin summoned the Sentimental Sword and the Ruthless Sword as the Evil Eye Tyrant's spiritual pressure intensified.
  • Qian Gu Dongfeng told Zang Xin that he had brought Cao Xin to obtain the External Soul Bone.

Ch. 10Related to the Evil Eye Tyrant Lord

Zang Xin demanded the Evil Eye Tyrant’s Eye-Pupil External Soul Bone for Cao Xin, while Qian Gu Dongfeng explained why the Spirit Pagoda had not absorbed it. The chapter ended with Zang Xin asking to speak with Cao Xin through a soul-guided communicator.

  • Zang Xin admitted he had brought Cao Xin to claim the Evil Eye Tyrant’s External Soul Bone and offered to yield ten percent of the Tang Sect’s profits to secure it.
  • Qian Gu Dongfeng explained that the Spirit Pagoda had only two External Soul Bones and asked why Zang Xin thought they had not absorbed the Evil Eye Tyrant’s bone.
  • Zang Xin angrily warned that Cao Dezhi might come to the Spirit Pagoda if Cao Xin were harmed.
  • Qian Gu Dongfeng revealed that the Soul Bone contained a trace of spiritual power from the former Evil Eye Tyrant Lord, which Spirit Abyss Realm cultivators could not overcome.
  • Zang Xin asked to speak with Cao Xin, and Qian Gu Dongfeng ordered a disciple to activate the soul-guided communicator.

Ch. 11Qian Gu Dongfeng: I Discovered a Huge Secret

Cao Xin ignored Zang Xin’s warning and fought a three-thousand-year Evil Eye Tyrant, hoping to claim its Soul Bone despite its dangerous spiritual power. As Cao Xin’s attack enraged the beast, Qian Gu Dongfeng realized he wielded both the Sentimental Sword and the Ruthless Sword and began to suspect Cao Xin was Zang Xin’s blood relative.

  • Zang Xin warned Cao Xin that the Evil Eye Tyrant’s Soul Bone carried the Evil Eye Tyrant Lord’s spiritual power and required Spirit Domain Realm strength to absorb, but Cao Xin insisted he could manage it.
  • Zang Xin trusted Cao Xin and prepared to save him if necessary, while Qian Gu Dongfeng questioned how a two-ring Soul Grandmaster could defeat the beast.
  • Qian Gu Dongfeng saw Cao Xin wield the Sentimental Sword and Ruthless Sword and suspected that Cao Xin was Zang Xin’s direct bloodline descendant.
  • Cao Xin used Traceback and his first Soul Skill to disrupt the Evil Eye Tyrant’s spiritual attack, then struck it with Late Autumn Sword Intent.
  • The wounded Evil Eye Tyrant became enraged and unleashed repeated spiritual shockwaves, forcing Cao Xin to retreat and defend himself.

Ch. 12Heavy Snow Whirls

Cao Xin used Self to turn the Ascension Platform into a blizzard, then killed the Evil Eye Tyrant with a Deep Winter sword strike. The beast was absorbed, and its eye-shaped soul bone appeared.

  • The Evil Eye Tyrant's mental assault drove Cao Xin to the edge of the clearing, while Qian Gu Dongfeng expected him to lose.
  • Cao Xin closed his eyes and used Self to make snow and ice blanket the Ascension Platform.
  • The blizzard blocked the Evil Eye Tyrant's vision and reduced its spiritual detection range.
  • Cao Xin declared his attack to be Deep Winter and pierced the Evil Eye Tyrant's pupil with the Ruthless Sword.
  • The Evil Eye Tyrant died and was absorbed by Cao Xin, leaving behind an eye-shaped soul bone.

Ch. 13Soul Skill: Mental Shockwave

Cao Xin absorbed the Evil Eye Tyrant’s Soul Bone and gained the Mental Shockwave Soul Skill. After resisting a spiritual assault from the phantom Evil Eye Tyrant Lord, he completed the fusion and tested the new power’s potential.

  • Qian Gu Dongfeng stared in disbelief as Cao Xin stood over the vanished Evil Eye Tyrant holding its violet-gold Soul Bone, while Zang Xin watched with satisfaction.
  • Cao Xin touched the Soul Bone, and it flowed into his body through his right eye, pulling him into an illusion of the Evil Demon Forest.
  • The phantom Evil Eye Tyrant Lord attacked Cao Xin’s spiritual sea, but Cao Xin used [Set Facts Aside] to make its spiritual power unable to affect him and escape the illusion.
  • Cao Xin fused with the Soul Bone over three hours and obtained the Mental Shockwave Soul Skill, which could repeatedly strike multiple enemies or concentrate its power against a single target.

Ch. 14Golden Hawksbill

After Cao Xin returned from the Ascension Platform, Zang Xin introduced him to Qian Gu Dongfeng, who gave him a Spirit Pagoda membership card and a Golden Hawksbill shell. As Zang Xin explained that the shell offered only a little good luck, Qian Gu Dongfeng ordered a disciple to investigate Cao Xin’s identity.

  • Cao Xin reappeared safely and greeted Zang Xin and Qian Gu Dongfeng, who learned that Zang Xin called him Second Dad.
  • Qian Gu Dongfeng gave Cao Xin an exclusive Spirit Pagoda membership card, then added a Golden Hawksbill shell after sensing Zang Xin’s displeasure.
  • Zang Xin led Cao Xin away from the reception room, and Qian Gu Dongfeng ordered a disciple to investigate the boy’s identity.
  • On the way back to the Tang Sect, Cao Xin opened the box and asked Zang Xin what the shell did.
  • Zang Xin explained that the shell held some of a Golden Hawksbill’s fortune and could bring a little good luck, but would not guarantee riches or treasures.

Ch. 15Swordsmanship Reigns Supreme

A year after returning from the Ascension Platform, Cao Xin had become a seven-year-old Three-Ring Soul Elder who could defeat Five-Ring Soul Kings through his swordsmanship. Zang Xin took him to Shrek Academy to find new sparring opponents.

  • Cao Xin wondered if he could use [Set Facts Aside] and [Self] to enhance the Fortune Power in the turtle shell.
  • A year later, Cao Xin defeated Zhang Tianyou in a sparring match at Tang Sect Headquarters, despite Zhang Tianyou being a Five-Ring Soul King.
  • Zhang Tianyou praised Cao Xin’s skill, and the chapter revealed that Cao Xin had reached the Three-Ring Soul Elder realm at age seven and had begun to comprehend Sword Intent.
  • Zang Xin invited Cao Xin to visit Shrek Academy, and Cao Xin agreed, hoping to find new opponents to spar with.
  • Zang Xin and Cao Xin arrived at Shrek Academy, which Cao Xin was visiting for the first time.

Ch. 16The So-Called Plane Restriction

Cao Xin wandered through Shrek Inner Academy after Zang Xin left for Sea God Pavilion, where he encountered the young Ye Xinglan and Xu Lizhi. Reflecting on the Douluo Plane’s restrictions on powerful beings, he concluded that they had been fabricated by a god and suspected Plane Lord Tang Hao was responsible.

  • Zang Xin asked Cao Xin whether he would accompany him to Sea God Pavilion, and Cao Xin chose to explore the Inner Academy instead.
  • Cao Xin walked beside Sea God Lake and saw Ye Xinglan followed by Xu Lizhi, recognizing them as newly enrolled students.
  • Cao Xin considered how Yun Ming and Cao Dezhi sealed their spiritual power to avoid the plane’s suppression and shortened lifespans.
  • Cao Xin reasoned that the Plane Restriction affected Peak Quasi-Gods but not true gods, and suspected another god had created it.
  • Cao Xin looked toward the sky and wondered whether Plane Lord Tang Hao had created the restriction.

Ch. 17Brainwashed Ye Xinglan

Cao Xin encountered Ye Xinglan and Xu Lizhi, whose strained relationship contrasted with the partnership he remembered. Ye Xinglan confronted Cao Xin and erupted at Xu Lizhi over months of pressure to accept him, leaving their conflict unresolved.

  • Cao Xin decided he needed to grow stronger rather than trust that Tang Hao or Tang San would let him become a god without interference.
  • Ye Xinglan returned with Xu Lizhi and demanded to know who Cao Xin was, then asked him to fight.
  • Xu Lizhi tried to calm Ye Xinglan, but his intervention intensified her anger.
  • Cao Xin wondered why Ye Xinglan and Xu Lizhi seemed hostile when he remembered them as a compatible pair.
  • Ye Xinglan shouted at Xu Lizhi to stop clinging to her and told him she was sick of him.

Ch. 18Absurd Shrek

Ye Xinglan was pressured by an Inner Court teacher to apologize to Xu Lizhi, but Cao Xin challenged Shrek's treatment of her. After Cao Xin said he was not a Shrek student, the teacher attacked him.

  • Xu Lizhi said he had only wanted to get closer to Ye Xinglan, and she angrily asked whether she had agreed to it.
  • An Inner Court teacher reprimanded Ye Xinglan, cited Xu Lizhi's rare potential, and threatened to send her home unless she apologized to him.
  • Ye Xinglan prepared to apologize to Xu Lizhi, but Cao Xin criticized Shrek for forcing her to accept unwanted attention.
  • The teacher demanded to know whose student Cao Xin was, and Cao Xin replied that he was not part of Shrek.
  • The teacher declared Cao Xin was finished, revealed his Seven-Ring Soul Sage cultivation, and lunged to seize him.

Ch. 19The Might of a Quasi-God! Courting Death!

Cao Xin overwhelmed a Shrek Inner Academy teacher with his seasonal sword intent and unusual soul skills, leaving the Seven-Ring Soul Sage badly wounded. As the teacher prepared to kill him with his Martial Soul Avatar, Zang Xin arrived and crushed him with Quasi-God pressure.

  • Cao Xin used Late Summer Sword Intent to burn the Inner Court teacher, who revealed his Thunder Tiger Martial Soul and prepared a lightning attack.
  • Cao Xin shifted his sword intent through Late Autumn and Deep Winter, then used Traceback and Once to erase the teacher’s attack and defenses.
  • Cao Xin pierced the teacher’s chest with the Ruthless Sword, spreading the Power of Deathly Silence through his body.
  • The wounded teacher activated his Martial Soul Avatar and lunged at Cao Xin, who sensed Zang Xin approaching and let his swords disappear.
  • Zang Xin’s Quasi-God might suppressed the teacher, dispersed his Martial Soul Avatar, and forced him to kneel.

Ch. 20When the Sky Falls, I've Got You!

Zang Xin arrived to find Cao Xin facing a Shrek Inner Court teacher who had tried to kill him, and Cao Xin feigned distress before demanding the teacher’s death. After Zang Xin killed the teacher, Ye Xinglan asked to go with them to avoid being blamed, but Cao Xin rejected her offer to spar because she was too weak.

  • Zang Xin found Cao Xin after the Inner Court teacher attacked him, and Cao Xin pretended to be injured and wronged.
  • Cao Xin calmly told Zang Xin that he wanted the teacher dead because the man had tried to kill him.
  • Zang Xin praised Cao Xin’s decisiveness and killed the Inner Court teacher with a burst of Soul Power.
  • Zang Xin told Cao Xin that he and Cao Dezhi would protect him, then left with him.
  • Ye Xinglan asked to follow them because Shrek Academy would blame her for the teacher’s death, but Cao Xin refused and said she was too weak to spar with him.
