Tang San was born with Twin Martial Souls inherited from his parents: the Blue Silver Emperor from his mother, Ah Yin, and the Clear Sky Hammer from his father, Tang Hao. Because the Blue Silver Emperor has not fully awakened, it initially appears to be ordinary Blue Silver Grass. 77 78

He became Yu Xiaogang's disciple after displaying apparent Blue Silver Grass and Innate Full Soul Power. Yu Xiaogang interpreted the combination as evidence of hidden potential and took him on partly to prove his own worth to the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. 7 25

Yu Xiaogang later deduced that Tang San was likely Tang Hao and the Blue Silver Emperor's son, correctly concluding that his Martial Souls were the Blue Silver Emperor and Clear Sky Hammer. However, Yu Xiaogang refused to take Tang San as his own disciple because Tang San already had a master. 48

Personality

Tang San is intensely loyal to the teacher-disciple bond. Even after recognizing Yu Xiaogang's limited cultivation and gaps in knowledge, he refuses to abandon him, believing that betraying a master would violate his principles. 62

First encounter with the alternate Yu Xiaogang

Tang San encounters the alternate Yu Xiaogang and Xie Yue in the Soul Hunting Forest. Believing the alternate to be impersonating his teacher and stealing his theories, Tang San defends Yu Xiaogang's reputation and challenges Xie Yue. 56 57

Defeat by Xie Yue

Tang San fights Xie Yue despite being ten levels lower and having one fewer Soul Skill. Xie Yue destroys Blue Silver Entanglement, anticipates Tang San's hidden weapons, and uses Moonlight Instant Strike to place a Moon Blade at Tang San's throat without injuring him. 57

The loss leaves Tang San humiliated and resentful. Yu Xiaogang reassures him that Xie Yue won only through higher cultivation and a fortunate teleportation skill, while the alternate Yu Xiaogang recognizes that Xie Yue's victory depended on preparation and perception. 58

Doubts about Yu Xiaogang

Xie Yue challenges Tang San to consider why his first Soul Skill duplicates a basic plant-type ability and asks whether Yu Xiaogang even knows about Soul Shock. Yu Xiaogang cannot explain the phenomenon, causing Tang San to question the basis of his teacher's expertise. 61 62

Tang San nevertheless chooses to remain with Yu Xiaogang for the time being, citing his commitment to the teacher-disciple relationship and his need for assistance obtaining Soul Rings. 62

Tang Hao's intervention

Tang Hao reveals Tang San's true heritage and confronts Yu Xiaogang for attaching poison to the Blue Silver Emperor. He forbids Yu Xiaogang from managing Tang San's Soul Rings and tells Tang San that most of Xie Yue's accusations about Yu Xiaogang's theories were true. 77 78

Despite this warning, Tang San accepts Yu Xiaogang's renewed guidance after Yu Xiaogang promises to seek information from the Supreme Pontiff about Twin Martial Soul cultivation. He agrees to graduate early and prepare to attend Shrek Academy with Xiao Wu. 79
