Taking Care of the Big King

After finishing the discussion of the plan, it was time for the preparatory stage. Originally, Aisling wanted to take the recording directly to Dumbledore to hold Fudge accountable, but Roy had a better plan. Under Roy's repeated persuasion, Aisling eventually abandoned the idea of going head-to-head with Dumbledore on politics, handing that job over to Roy instead.

After briefly dividing the labor, Aisling left the school directly through the Special Operations Office passage, while Roy headed straight to Dumbledore's office after making a trip to the kitchens.

Knock, knock, knock—knock, knock, knock—

"Open the door! It's me! Roy! I've come to see you! And I brought your favorite apples!!"

Roy banged on the door with a thunderous racket, disturbing the portraits in the corridor so much with the ghostly commotion he caused that they fled into portraits on other floors.

"Open the door! Open up!"

Roy certainly knew what the password to the Headmaster's Office was, but he still pounded on the door for a long time until Dumbledore, sitting inside the office, was forced to come out himself and invite Roy in, at which point Roy finally agreed to stop torturing the door of the Headmaster's Office.

"I say, Roy, don't you know the password to my office? Why on earth were you pounding on the door like that?"

The door to the Headmaster's Office slowly swung open, and Dumbledore's rather exhausted face appeared from behind it. Being preoccupied with banging on the door, Roy wasn't paying attention and almost slapped Dumbledore right across his large, crooked nose, giving the old man a huge fright. If that slap had landed, it undoubtedly would have broken Dumbledore's already fragile nasal bridge all over again.

"Heh-heh-heh, didn't I come to see you..."
