After making some preparations, the group boarded the fighter jet and sped toward Barry Allen's location.
On the jet, Batman took out two weapons made of Kryptonite and handed them to Diana.
As for why he had not given them to Lin Feng, Bruce knew that Lin Feng was also a Kryptonian, and Kryptonite would affect him as well!
"These are a pair of Kryptonite Handcuffs and a dagger," Bruce explained.
"Lin Feng's mission is to temporarily restrain Clark."
"Diana, find an opening to put the Kryptonite Handcuffs on Clark. That way, we can control him without threatening his life."
Diana nodded and accepted them.
Both items were kept inside a lead box to prevent them from affecting Lin Feng.
"As for the dagger, keep it with you for now. Use it if you get the chance; if not, we'll talk about it later." Bruce added, "I've also prepared a few Kryptonite bullets. They're loaded into Victor's weapon system as a backup plan."
"There wasn't much time, so there aren't many Kryptonite bullets. Don't use them unless necessary. They would do too much damage to Clark."
Lin Feng, however, walked over with a curious expression and asked, "Can I take a look at the Kryptonite Weapons?"
He was extremely curious about Kryptonite and wanted to see whether it would really affect him.
Diana was startled when she heard that. "Lin! Doesn't your world have Kryptonite? This stuff will make you lose your ability to fight!"
Bruce asked doubtfully, "Lin, you've never seen Kryptonite?"
Lin Feng nodded and explained, "I come from another universe. Kryptonite doesn't exist where I'm from, so I want to see whether it will affect me."
Hearing this, Bruce gave Lin Feng a deep look. After hesitating briefly, he said to Diana, "Diana, let Lin Feng have a look."
"Only by letting Lin Feng understand what Kryptonite can do can he deal with Clark better."
Diana nodded as well. She held out the lead box and said, "Lin Feng, be careful. Getting close to Kryptonite may make you feel unwell."
"If anything happens, I'll close the lead box immediately!"
With that, Diana slowly opened the lead box.
Lin Feng curiously leaned his head over.
Inside the lead box were a dagger and a pair of handcuffs.
Other than its handle, the dagger was made entirely of Kryptonite. Part of the handcuffs was metal as well, presumably to make them sturdier.
The instant he drew close to the Kryptonite Weapons, Lin Feng frowned.
He felt the blood in his body speeding up, while a faint sense of weakness spread through his entire body.
However, he found that he had not lost his ability to fight.
In the original story, Clark would practically collapse to his knees when he got close to Kryptonite. Its effect on him was enormous.
After giving it some thought, Lin Feng grabbed the Kryptonite Handcuffs in front of everyone's astonished eyes.
He wanted to see whether touching Kryptonite would harm him.
The instant he touched the Kryptonite, the weakness became clearer. Lin Feng felt his blood rushing rapidly, his whole body growing feeble, accompanied by a very slight sense of palpitations.
But the loss of combat ability he had imagined still did not occur.
Lin Feng's eyes lit up as he carefully sensed his body.
It wasn't that there was no effect at all. It had probably weakened his combat ability by thirty to forty percent.
Other than that, there was no further discomfort.
This meant that Kryptonite affected Lin Feng far less strongly than it did Clark.
Joy welled up in Lin Feng's heart. The system's claim of optimizing Superman's bloodline had not been empty boasting after all.
After he put the handcuffs back into the lead box, the palpitations immediately vanished, and Lin Feng returned to normal.
He let out a breath and said to the dumbfounded group, "It's not as serious as I imagined!"
"It can probably only weaken part of my combat ability and make me feel a little uncomfortable."
"Other than that, I don't feel anything else."
Bruce exclaimed, "Aren't you a Kryptonian? Could Kryptonite's effect have weakened?"
Thinking it was entirely possible, Bruce's expression darkened.
If Kryptonite's effect had truly weakened, that would be terrible news for them. It would mean Superman would be completely beyond his control.
Diana spoke thoughtfully, "Probably not. Kryptonite has very little effect on Lin Feng, perhaps because Lin Feng isn't from our universe..."
Bruce was puzzled. "I wanted to ask earlier. What did Lin Feng mean when he said he wasn't from our universe?"
Diana immediately repeated what Lin Feng had said earlier.
After listening, Bruce raised an eyebrow and relaxed slightly. "So there was a reason like that."
Lin Feng nodded. "That's right. There shouldn't be anything wrong with the Kryptonite. The main reason should be my own unique nature."
"You can think of me as an outsider passing through. Once this incident is resolved, I'll leave!" Lin Feng said this mainly to put Batman at ease.
If a Kryptonian who was not afraid of Kryptonite stayed on Earth, Batman would probably lose sleep day and night.
Clark was the precedent. Without Kryptonite, who knew whether Batman would have allowed Superman to keep developing unchecked?
What had happened this time further proved Batman's suspicion. Just how terrifying was an out-of-control Superman? Just look at that corrupted Clark. Oh, heaven.
Lin Feng was in a good mood after learning that he was not afraid of Kryptonite.
The others all had different thoughts.
Bruce wore a grim expression, lost in thought.
Diana looked worried as she considered the coming battle.
Aquaman nonchalantly fiddled with his trident.
Kryptonite or whatever, he didn't know anything about it. Once this battle was over, he would return to the sea and make babies with Mera. He neither wanted to concern himself with nor know about affairs on land.
Mera was still the best!
Suddenly, while everyone's thoughts were wandering, a rapid beeping sounded inside the fighter jet.
They followed the sound and saw that it was coming from the control panel.
"An incoming signal!" Victor rushed to the control panel and pressed a button.
The beeping stopped, followed by the voice of The Flash, Barry Allen.
Bruce stepped forward as well and activated the speaker.
"Barry, is that you?!"
"Oh, thank God, it finally connected!" Barry Allen's exhausted yet slightly delighted voice came through the communicator.
"It's me, it's me, guys!"
"I might not make it! I can't protect the Mother Box anymore!" Barry Allen's voice carried a sob, accompanied by heavy panting.
"He found me. Superman found me. I can barely run anymore!"
Barry Allen did not know what meaning there was in continuing to run. Superman would soon catch up to his exhausted self, while Batman and the others were still on the other side of Earth. He felt that he could no longer protect this Mother Box.
Hearing about Barry's current situation, everyone's expressions turned grave.
Bruce said in a deep voice, "Calm down, Barry!"
"We're heading to your location! You have to hold on, Barry!"
"If we lose the Mother Box, Blue Star will be destroyed!"
"Barry, believe in yourself. Hold on a little longer!"
"Oh! Thank God, you're actually coming! How long until you get here?" Hope appeared in Barry Allen's eyes again. He felt that he could run once more. Bruce's words were like a shot of adrenaline, setting Barry ablaze again.
However, Bruce fell silent as he looked at the data displayed on the instrument.
Estimated arrival time—51 minutes and 37 seconds.
