"Barry..." After a brief moment of thought, Bruce said, "We'll be there in half an hour!"
Barry nearly stumbled and fell when he heard that. He cried out in despair again, "What?!"
"Another half hour?!" Barry looked back. The savage-looking Superman hovered in midair, less than a hundred meters behind him at most.
A tremendous sense of danger hit him, and Barry flipped around, changing direction.
The next second, a blast of Heat Vision struck the spot where Barry had just been.
"Oh, God!"
"Man, I can't hold on for another half hour! Maybe I'll die to Heat Vision in the next second!" Barry shouted as his steps began to falter.
The prolonged sprint had worsened Barry's exhaustion.
Inside the fighter jet, everyone fell silent with grim expressions after hearing Barry's response.
Seeing this, Lin Feng quietly stepped forward. "I can go ahead first!"
As the others looked at him, Lin Feng nodded and continued, "I can fly very fast. Open the fighter jet, and I'll fly over first!"
"Have Barry run toward the direction I'm flying from! I'll get there as soon as I can!"
Everyone's eyes lit up at his words.
Bruce nodded decisively. "All right, Lin Feng, you go first!"
"You have to save Barry and the Mother Box! This concerns the fate of Blue Star!"
After saying that, Bruce reached out and patted Lin Feng on the shoulder, his gaze filled with gravity and trust.
Lin Feng silently nodded. With a thought, black combat armor appeared over his body the next second.
Bruce handed Lin Feng an earpiece. "Take this. We can communicate at any time!"
"Are you ready?!"
Lin Feng took the earpiece, put it in his ear, and replied, "Ready! Open the hatch!"
The next second, Bruce pulled the hatch lever. The air was instantly sucked out of the cabin, and Lin Feng did not resist, allowing himself to be thrown out of the fighter jet along with it.
Bang!
After leaving the fighter jet, Lin Feng turned and shot toward Barry's location like a meteor, leaving only several sonic-boom clouds in the sky.
His speed was more than ten times faster than the fighter jet's!
The others in the fighter jet had been prepared and were not sucked outside.
Once Lin Feng had flown away, Bruce closed the hatch, then opened the communications channel and connected Lin Feng to it.
At the same time, a green Light dot representing Lin Feng's position appeared on the fighter jet's control console screen.
Victor, who was checking the data, brightened and said to the others, "There's hope!"
"Lin Feng's flight speed is extremely fast. At this speed, he should reach Barry's position in less than five minutes!"
Everyone relaxed slightly at those words. As expected of a Kryptonian—at more than ten times the speed of sound, he vanished from their sight in an instant.
Bruce connected the comms again. "Barry, can you hear me, Barry?!"
"I can hear you!" Barry's voice came through the communicator once more.
"Guys, maybe it's time for me to say goodbye!"
"I'm sorry, I can't protect the Mother Box..."
Exhausted, Barry spoke as though he were delivering his final words.
"Oh, Barry! Don't give up!" Diana stepped forward anxiously.
Bruce said as well, "Barry, don't give up! Lin Feng is flying toward you!"
"Hold on for two minutes! He can reach you in two minutes!"
"Don't lie to me, Bruce. Also, who's Lin Feng?"
"I'm not lying! Barry, Lin Feng is our secret weapon! He's the secret weapon that can stand against Superman!" Bruce hurriedly said. At a time like this, Barry had to see hope if he was to last until Lin Feng arrived.
After Bruce finished speaking, he operated the console and connected Lin Feng's headset to the communications channel.
"Hey! Barry Allen, I'm Lin Feng!" Lin Feng's voice rang out over the channel.
The Bio-Force Field allowed Lin Feng to communicate with everyone even while flying at extreme speeds. He had heard Bruce and Barry's conversation just now, so he naturally understood what Bruce meant.
"Trust me, man. I have a Kryptonian Bloodline too!"
"I'm rushing toward you at top speed! Hold on!"
Lin Feng's concise words were like a shot of adrenaline to Barry's heart.
"Oh my God! Is that true?!" Barry was so excited that he could barely speak coherently, though he could not help complaining, "Why didn't you bring out a secret weapon like that sooner?!"
The people inside the fighter jet looked at one another. We wanted to use him sooner too, but the secret weapon had only appeared today. What could we do?
Bruce said, "Barry, run southeast! That's the direction Lin Feng is coming from!"
"Roger that, sir! I'll definitely last two minutes!"
Hope had arrived, and Barry immediately felt strength filling his body again. Squeezing out every last bit of his potential, he turned around once more like a bolt of lightning and raced southeast.
After shutting off the comms, everyone in the fighter jet focused on the screen displaying the coordinates. A line of data and two signal points were shown on it.
The two signal points were rapidly approaching each other. The data showed that they would overlap in only two minutes and thirty-eight seconds.
They kept praying that Barry would run a little faster and Lin Feng would fly a little faster. No one wanted to see disaster descend!
Meanwhile, Lin Feng had already pushed his flight speed to the limit, while radiation from the sun continuously replenished his energy.
Barry, running at top speed, was having a miserable time.
The controlled, corrupted Clark seemed to be playing a game, like a large cat toying with a mouse. Every so often, he fired a blast of Heat Vision to alter Barry's direction.
Barry barely dodged again and again, escaping by the narrowest of margins.
He knew that if he was hit even once, he would be finished. All he could do now was pray for those two minutes to pass quickly!
Perhaps Barry's luck had finally run out of Light.
When Clark fired the next blast of Heat Vision, Barry's evasive movement was just a fraction too slow, and the beam swept across his ankle.
In an instant, Barry screamed and dropped out of his high-speed state.
Having lost his balance, he rolled violently across the ground for some distance before coming to a stop.
That blast of Heat Vision had merely grazed his ankle, yet it took away more than half the flesh there.
Overwhelming pain struck him. Barry broke out in a cold sweat and clutched his ankle, screaming without pause.
The Mother Box was thrown some distance away as well.
Seeing Barry stop, something like a cold sneer flashed across corrupted Clark's twisted face. He slowly drifted down from the air and picked up the Mother Box.
Barry watched helplessly as the Mother Box fell into Clark's hands. Alarmed, he endured the pain and activated the communicator.
"Superman hit me! He got the Mother Box!"
At those words, Batman and the others in the fighter jet all shrank their pupils and instantly stood up!
"It's over, guys! This time, we really have to say goodbye. Oh, no, it should be farewell forever..."
Clark, having picked up the Mother Box, turned his Light toward Barry, who lay collapsed on the ground. His bloodshot eyes slowly began to glow red as he charged up Heat Vision!
Barry knew perfectly well that he could not dodge this blast of Heat Vision. His foot had been severely injured, and he could no longer use the Speed Force.
This time, there really was no escape. Barry closed his eyes as though resigned to his fate.
Just then, a voice like heavenly music sounded in his earpiece.
"Hey! Barry, I see you!"
