In Konoha's Food Street, inside an inconspicuous little shop, all ten tables were already full, with quite a few people still waiting in line outside.
Though the shop was small and simple, its decor was anything but ordinary. Many cute green plants hung on the whitewashed walls, alongside numerous beautiful pictures of food. The floor was laid with bright white tiles, and thanks to the meticulous cleaning, the entire place felt exceptionally clean and sanitary.
Most importantly, the owner was a beautiful blonde woman. Her gentle, motherly smile gave every customer who entered the shop a soothing sense of healing.
The waiters were children with equally comforting smiles on their faces. They were obedient and sensible.
Heizo Yamazaki and Taiga Noda were helping out as well.
Kirito, Chizuru, and Nawaki had a table to themselves, and quite a few empty plates were already piled up on it.
"Another ten servings of pan-fried dumplings."
Kirito raised his hand and shouted.
"Yes, please wait a moment."
The next instant, Yakushi Nonō, who had transformed herself into a beautiful older sister with the Transformation Jutsu, answered with a smile.
"Hey, hey, hey, you're still eating?"
Seeing Kirito order more food, Nawaki said with a pained expression.
Looking at the pile of dishes on the table, he could already foresee his allowance for the month going bankrupt.
He had spent some time with Kirito and naturally knew just how much he could eat. Before offering to treat them, he had factored Kirito's appetite into the calculation. But he had never imagined that Kirito was not the only big eater among them.
"She looks so tiny. How can she eat so much too?"
Nawaki looked at Chizuru, who was elegantly nibbling on spring rolls, and silently shed tears for his wallet, which could practically be declared bankrupt already.
Noticing Nawaki's tearful gaze, Chizuru immediately flashed a wicked grin. Then, under Nawaki's agonized expression, she raised her hand and shouted, "Another five servings of spring rolls."
Compared to pan-fried dumplings, she preferred this food called spring rolls. She felt like she could eat them forever without getting tired of them.
"Yes, please wait a moment."
Yakushi Nonō immediately replied enthusiastically.
"Nawaki, look on the bright side. If your wallet doesn't have enough, you can always put it on credit. You're the Hokage's grandson—you can definitely pay it back."
Kirito comforted him with a mischievous grin.
Nawaki gritted his teeth as he stared at Kirito, feeling a powerful urge to smash the plate of sauce into that smugly grinning face.
"Hey, how much longer are you going to make me wait? I've been standing in line for nearly five minutes already. Hurry up and pack ten servings of spring rolls for me."
Suddenly, a very rude voice rang out in the shop.
Kirito immediately turned his head and saw someone wearing a Police Force uniform grabbing Nonō's hand, glaring at her with a furious expression.
"I'm sorry, there are simply too many customers. Please wait patiently a little longer. It'll be your turn very soon."
Nonō said apologetically.
But the man had clearly run out of patience. He said domineeringly, "Shut up. Arrange it for me immediately. I'm with the Police Force. Who do you think works hard to keep the peace around here? Woman, are you trying to make us go hungry?"
As he spoke, he tightened his grip, making Nonō reveal a pained expression.
When the surrounding customers saw the healing goddess being bullied, they all glared angrily at the man. But upon seeing the Uchiwa Clan Crest on his back, they could only swallow their anger and remain silent.
Noticing the others' gazes, the Police Force man felt neither shame nor fear. Instead, he arrogantly said, "What are you looking at? I'm warning you, don't meddle in other people's business. Be careful, or I'll take you back for questioning."
Upon hearing this, most of the people quickly lowered their heads.
This was not the first time Nonō had encountered an unreasonable customer, but it was the first time someone from the Police Force had harassed her like this.
She had heard from others that there were scum among the Police Force, but she had not expected to run into one so soon. Wary of his status, she did not know how to deal with him for the moment.
At the end of the day, she was only an eight-year-old child who had learned a little ninjutsu.
Even if she was mature for her age, she still lacked experience and strength.
Naturally, Kirito could not allow his good friend to be bullied. Previously, he might not have dared to provoke an Uchiha. For the sake of keeping the shop running smoothly, he would have chosen to endure it for now and pay it back tenfold later. After all, commoners did not fight officials. But now that he had the status of Mito's disciple, things were different.
Just as he was about to step in and help Nonō out of the situation, someone unexpected made a move first.
It was one of the boys working as a waiter. He was very brave. Seeing Nonō being bullied, he immediately rushed forward and shouted, "Let go of Sister Nonō, you bastard!"
Seeing the boy charge at him, a cruel glint flashed through the Police Force man's eyes.
A mere civilian child actually dared to provoke the Uchiha's authority.
He was asking to die.
The Police Force man kicked at the charging boy, showing no restraint.
Just as the boy was about to be hurt, Kirito acted decisively. He used a chopstick as a weapon and fired it at high speed toward the Police Force man's forehead.
At the same time, a senbon and a kunai flew out as well.
Kirito was surprised to discover that Chizuru had acted too.
The kunai had been thrown by Nawaki.
The chopstick, senbon, and kunai tore through the air with a sharp whistle. The Police Force man, whose strength had reached the level of a Chunin, instantly sensed the danger. He immediately gave up on attacking the boy and released Nonō. Then he activated his One-Tomoe Sharingan, drew a kunai, and swiftly knocked away the incoming chopstick, senbon, and kunai.
At the same time, Nonō hurriedly scooped up the boy and moved away from the Police Force man.
"Who was that? Step forward."
After the Police Force man was out of danger, he immediately shouted angrily.
"Shut up, you disgraceful fool. Get out."
The next moment, Chizuru stepped forward, activated her One-Tomoe Sharingan, and stared at the Police Force man.
The moment the Police Force man saw the Sharingan in Chizuru's eyes, he recognized her. His arrogant swagger instantly vanished, replaced by a trace of panic, though he still stubbornly said, "Miss Chizuru, I'm a member of the Uchiha Clan too. How can you side with an outsider?"
"I don't want to repeat myself. Trash like you, who tarnish the Uchiha's honor, doesn't deserve to be called Uchiha."
Chizuru said with disgust.
The Police Force man only showed some restraint because Chizuru was the Clan Head's granddaughter, but he was not truly afraid of her.
Now that Chizuru had humiliated him in public and called him trash that tarnished the Uchiha's honor, a powerful sense of humiliation surged through him, instantly evaporating whatever remained of his rationality. He rapidly formed Hand Seals and roared, "You ungrateful little bitch, you're asking for a lesson."
Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu.
But before he could complete the Hand Seals, a foot slammed viciously into his face.
Kirito was the one who struck. Drawing on Natural Energy, he instantly erupted with Speed beyond that of an ordinary Chunin, successfully launching a surprise attack while the Police Force man's attention was entirely focused on Chizuru.
With that kick, the Police Force man was sent flying and crashed onto the street outside, horrifying the pedestrians, who hurriedly scattered in all directions to avoid getting caught in the crossfire.
"How dare you use that damned Ninjutsu in someone else's shop, you bastard!"
Kirito rushed out after him, giving the Police Force man no chance to retaliate. He stomped heavily on his stomach, thoroughly defeating him.
However, just as he knocked down this Uchiha Police Force man, Police Force members began appearing one after another on the surrounding rooftops. Each of them activated their Sharingan and stared at him with deep malice in their eyes.
Kirito quickly raised both hands to show that he meant no harm.
