Background / History

Kirito was born to commoner parents from the Land of Fire. Bandits killed them while the family was traveling to Konohagakure; Konoha shinobi saved Kirito, who entered the village orphanage at age five. He spent a year there as a quiet, kind, seemingly slow-witted child. 1

After a grave illness nearly killed him, Kirito transmigrated into the body and inherited its Sage Transformation constitution. He became highly intelligent, rapidly learned to read, and began studying the Naruto world while concealing his unusual abilities. 1 2

He trained in secret at night, using Natural Energy to strengthen himself while avoiding the danger of absorbing too much and going berserk. Yakushi Nonō discovered his nightly absences but protected his secret, telling him that the orphanage children were family. 2

Kirito entered the Ninja Academy and quickly became involved with Nawaki, Chizuru Uchiha, and Mito Uzumaki. Mito offered to teach him Sealing Jutsu, setting him on the path toward becoming Konoha's foremost sealing specialist. 11 156
