A stubborn struggle

Hela had given up all hope in Odin after nearly a thousand years imprisoned in Hel.

But Loki and the others could not understand how she felt. They frowned as they listened to her curse Odin, while Thor glared at her and angrily pointed Mjolnir at her.

"Whatever misunderstandings you have with Father, you cannot insult him like that! He is your father!"

Hela looked at Mjolnir, a disdainful smile curling her lips.

At Thor's rebuke, Hela sneered.

"A father? A father who locked his own daughter in a lifeless place for a thousand years? A father who tried to make his people forget his daughter?"

Hela stared straight into Thor's eyes. "You call that a father's love?"

Thor seemed at a loss for words. Sylvie stepped forward and told Hela, "But Mother said there were only some misunderstandings between you and Father. Once those are cleared up, you can be close again, just like before."

"Misunderstandings? Close again?"

Hela looked around Hel, which had remained unchanged for centuries. "If it were that easy to make things right, then what was all my suffering for?"

"Then what do you want?" Loki asked with a frown. Hela turned toward him—or, more precisely, toward Gungnir in his hand.

"I want to take Gungnir from you, claim Asgard for myself, and lock Odin in here until he dies. Let him experience everything I went through."

Loki looked at Gungnir in his hand. Giving it to Hela was not entirely out of the question. After all, he did not want to spend every day sitting around handling paperwork.
