Now that Lu Qi was here, Star-Lord had no reason to hold back. He headed straight for a nearby Stargate, planning to get ahead of the two of them and intercept them along their expected route.

The scout ship that had been following them also spotted the giant beast and immediately reported its location.

Watching Lu Qi stand steadily in the vacuum, Star-Lord leaned back in his chair and asked the well-traveled Gamora, "How strong do you have to be to survive in a vacuum?"

"Survive in a vacuum? Aside from species like Groot that don't need oxygen, only those with extraordinary energy inside them—enough to sustain their bodies—can survive in space for long. Beings like that are rare even across the entire universe."

Her adoptive father, Thanos, was individually powerful enough to fight some weaker extraordinary beings. But he had no extraordinary energy within him and could not survive in a vacuum for long.

Thanos's greatest enemy at present, Odin, the god-king of Asgard, could survive in a vacuum thanks to the divine power passed down through the Asgardian Gods.

Even Odin's descendant Thor, who was not yet particularly powerful, could probably survive in a vacuum by relying on the divine power within him.

Envy spread across Star-Lord's face as he listened to Gamora. Then he asked, "Can someone gain extraordinary energy later in life?"

If they could, they had enough money to get some for every member of the crew.

Gamora crushed that dream without mercy. "It's possible, but anything
