The Great Thousand World is a vast gathering place for innumerable planes, including countless Lower Planes. Its remaining half is still immense enough to contain major continents, superpowers, and frontier battlefields. 98 99

• Lower Planes — Generally possess weaker energy than the Great Thousand World and may be unable to withstand the presence of even Earthly Sovereigns. Their spatial nodes can be difficult to locate, while ascension passages allow their inhabitants to enter the greater world. They are not necessarily the Great Thousand World’s vassals and can possess distinctive resources and laws absent from the main world. 141 235
• Demonic Domain — The half of the Great Thousand World occupied and corrupted by the Extraterrestrial Evil Clan. Its evil qi and demonic power contaminate spiritual energy, making reclamation and purification difficult. Trace spiritual energy remains along some outer fringes, but it is absent from the deeper regions. 99 200 209
• Tianluo Continent — One of the Great Thousand World’s ten great supercontinents. Once ruled by the Ancient Heavenly Palace, it remained divided for tens of thousands of years before Thunder Palace unified it. 154 176 185
• Saint Abyss Continent — A former Lower Plane in the Westernmost Land. It borders the Demonic Domain and contains the Ancient Saint Abyss, a principal battlefield of the ancient war. • West Heaven / Luo God Continent — Formerly controlled by the West Heaven War Hall; restored as Luo God Continent following the Western Heaven War Emperor’s death. 198 199

• Southernmost Land — The southern frontier adjoining the Demonic Domain, guarded by the Endless Fire Domain. It supports extensive commerce, alchemy, and mercenary activity despite its proximity to enemy territory. 210
• Nine Nether Continent and Nine Nether Realm — The Nine Netherbird Tribe’s continent and ancestral realm within the Spirit Beast World. The Nine Nether Realm was originally a Lower Plane connected to the Great Thousand World by an ancestor of the tribe. 158

The world’s immense distances make travel a significant undertaking. Star maps record regional routes, but even the finest cannot comprehensively chart the entire world. Even a Saint Grade Heavenly Sovereign cannot cross it in a short time. 48 181

Beyond the Great Thousand World lies an outer sea of stars containing other worlds. Peak Saint Grade experts such as the Martial Ancestor and Flame Emperor can occasionally enter the outer realms and vaguely perceive distant worlds, but their ability to explore beyond the Great Thousand World remains limited. 198

Continent Power

Large continents nurture Continent Power, which can reshape spiritual energy, stabilize a cultivator’s foundation, and improve the likelihood of reaching Heavenly Sovereign. Heavenly Sovereigns can also use it to improve cultivation efficiency. The present supercontinents are somewhat incomplete compared with their ancient counterparts; the Divine Beast Origin preserves Continent Power of exceptional quality. 167

Cultivation System

Cultivation progressively increases a practitioner’s control over the world. Earthly Sovereigns transform their Sovereign Dharma Bodies into Sovereign Dharma Manifestations, gain the ability to crystallize spiritual energy, and wield substantially greater spatial authority than Supreme Realm cultivators. Upper Earthly Sovereign breakthroughs produce manifestations of mountains and rivers formed from spiritual energy. 65 83 101

Sovereign Spirit Liquid is both an essential cultivation resource after reaching the Supreme Realm and the Great Thousand World’s principal hard currency. A Supreme Realm cultivator requires approximately a month to condense a drop, with higher-grade liquid possessing greater value. 37

Sovereign Dharma Bodies

The Great Thousand World recognizes ninety-nine ranked Sovereign Dharma Bodies. The five surviving Primordial Immortal Bodies occupy the top five positions and can grant a body comparable to a Saint Grade Heavenly Sovereign after gaining their recognition. 41 116

• Myriad Ancient Immortal Body — A Primordial Immortal Body formerly possessed by the Immortal Emperor and entrusted to the Maha Ancient Clan. Its foundational cultivation begins with the Great Solar Undying Body and proceeds through the Immortal Golden Body. 116 130
• Luo God Dharma Body — Ranked eleventh among the ninety-nine Sovereign Dharma Bodies. 63
• Ancient War Emperor Dharma Body — Ranked twenty-fourth and inherited from the War Emperor, one of the Nine Ancient Emperors. Its inheritance is associated with the fusion of spiritual energy and battle intent into War-Spirit Force. 197

Spiritual Arrays

Spiritual arrays use spiritual energy as their foundation, linking spiritual seals to draw upon the energy of heaven and earth. Their applications include combat, defense, cultivation support, Spirit Gathering Arrays, and spatial teleportation. Adequate preparation can allow an array practitioner to trap and kill opponents of the same cultivation level. 28 30

Zhao Chen developed the Human-Body Grand Formation, constructing an enduring array within a sufficiently powerful physical body. His later territorial-reclamation proposal uses formations with conversion cores to transform evil qi and demonic power into spiritual energy. 64 200

Spiritual Arts and Artifacts

• Spiritual techniques include cultivation arts, offensive techniques, defensive techniques, and body-refining techniques. Their documented grades are mortal, spiritual, and divine, each divided into low, middle, and high tiers. 4
• Divine abilities include Lesser, Greater, Grand Completion, Quasi-Supreme, and Supreme Divine Abilities, with the world’s thirty-six supreme abilities occupying a particularly distinguished position. Examples include the Supreme Heart Demon Scripture and One Qi Transformation into Three Pure Ones. 69 129 134
• Artifacts are broadly classified as spiritual artifacts, Divine Artifacts, and Saint Objects. 4

Alchemy and Heavenly Flames

Alchemy is a major source of cultivation resources and the economic foundation of the Endless Fire Domain. Pill refinement relies on soul power, an alchemy furnace, and a suitable flame. Following the Flame Emperor’s rise, the term Heavenly Flame became widely accepted for exceptional naturally occurring flames and the companion flames of divine or holy beasts. 58

The Endless Fire Domain hosts the Great Thousand World Alchemy Assembly every four years, drawing alchemists and other visitors from across the world. Its Heavenly Flame Hall contains twenty-two Heavenly Flames originating from the Flame Emperor’s native Dou Qi Continent. 210 231

Historical Conflict

Extraterrestrial Evil Clan Invasion

The Extraterrestrial Evil Clan has invaded the Great Thousand World since the ancient and primordial eras. The initial catastrophe destroyed or occupied approximately half of the world, leaving innumerable ruined inheritances and claiming countless lives. 47 98 99

The invaders possess several advantages over cultivators of equal realm:

• Their evil energy and demonic power can corrode and contaminate spiritual energy. 98 141
• Slain demons can revive through demonic or human corpses. 98
• Their thirty-two major clans are each ruled by a Demon Emperor; the strongest Demon Emperors are comparable to Saint Grade Heavenly Sovereigns. 47
• The Heavenly Evil God, their leader, was sealed by the Immortal Emperor but has not been completely destroyed. 98 99
• Demonic energy is of a higher order than spiritual energy. Demon Emperors can refine spiritual energy and devour Heavenly Sovereigns, whereas ordinary Heavenly Sovereigns struggle to purify demonic energy, much less use it as nourishment. 144 230

The Immortal Emperor sacrificed himself to suppress the Heavenly Evil God, preventing the invaders from fully conquering the world. The result was not a complete victory: the Demonic Domain remains under enemy control, and invasions of isolated Lower Planes continue. 98 99

The Heavenly Evil God is the second Holy God, an innate deity originating from the Heavenly Origin World. Surviving members of the Holy Clan fled that world with his divine egg and wandered the sea of stars before choosing the Great Thousand World as their new homeland and a foundation for an eventual return. His divine nature makes him exceptionally difficult to kill; according to the Flame Emperor, destroying him requires divine power beyond the Transcendent Saint Stage. 219 232

The prolonged standoff does not mean the invaders have lost the ability to wage another major war. Internal competition for the Demonic Domain and Lower Plane resources has divided them in the Heavenly Evil God’s absence. The Flame Emperor initially describes their overall strength as greater than that of the Great Thousand World, while later assessments characterize the opposing sides as relatively evenly matched, with an all-out war certain to be devastating. 216 219 228 257

Current Defense

The Flame Emperor and Martial Ancestor are among the major defenders stationed against the Extraterrestrial Evil Clan. Their forces guard the borders, but the world’s size and the number of hidden Lower Planes make comprehensive protection impossible. 98 99

Following the fall of the West Heaven War Hall, Thunder Palace, the Luo God Clan, and the Nine Netherbird Tribe agree to jointly defend the Westernmost Land through Saint Abyss Continent. Their long-term plan is to use the region as a base for reclaiming and purifying the Demonic Domain. 191 200

The Endless Fire Domain, Martial Realm, and Sword Domain permanently guard three of the world’s principal border gateways. Other powers often send younger cultivators for experience or rotate armies through frontier service, but few can maintain a permanent border defense. Heavenly Sovereigns are expected to resist the invaders, while participation below that realm is voluntary. 191 207

The Martial Ancestor endorsed Zhao Chen’s western counteroffensive and promised to handle Peak Heavenly Demon Emperors while Zhao Chen developed his strength. Great Thousand Palace headquarters subsequently notified Great Thousand Tower Master Lu Tong that Thunder Palace would assume primary responsibility for Saint Abyss Continent’s defense. 200 204

Territorial recovery requires more than defeating enemy armies. Earlier counteroffensives repeatedly faltered because purification could not keep pace with renewed demonic contamination. Frontier forces therefore reclaim land gradually, purifying and consolidating each area before advancing to avoid overextending their defenses. 210 231

Great Thousand Pact and Demon-Sealing World Formation

The Great Thousand Pact is associated with the continuing effort to eliminate the sealed Heavenly Evil God. Great Thousand Palace is an important initiator and overseer of each pact. Only one final pact remains in the period surrounding the renewed assault on Saint Abyss Continent, and the Extraterrestrial Evil Clan intends to exploit it to rescue its leader. 219 256 258

The Demon-Sealing World Formation is founded upon the Great Thousand World’s essence. Forcibly destroying it requires at least a Transcendent Saint Stage expert, a level the contemporary invaders do not possess. Its control method is an absolute secret held by the Great Thousand Palace’s chief elder; even the Undying Lord has never truly mastered it. The Extraterrestrial Evil Clan knows the importance of this restriction and has incorporated it into its long-term schemes. 232 258

Renewed Assaults on Saint Abyss Continent

After Zhao Chen’s victories against several Heavenly Demon Emperors and his suppression of Demon Emperor Yan Tian, the invaders identified him as a threat capable of disrupting the wider balance of power. Rather than directly assault the heavily watched Endless Fire Domain, their leaders planned to target him after his return to Saint Abyss Continent. Zhao Chen meanwhile completed his breakthrough to Saint Grade. 231 235

Zhao Chen ended an assault on Saint Abyss City, destroying the attacking fiends and forcing the Sea Ice Heavenly Demon Emperor to retreat. His intervention confirmed Thunder Palace’s standing as a top-tier superpower and its control over access to the Ancient Saint Abyss. 242

A subsequent offensive committed four Peak Heavenly Demon Emperors: the Dark Heavenly Demon Emperor, Heaven-Slaying Demon Emperor, Heart Heavenly Demon Emperor, and Demon Emperor Hai Tian. The enemy isolated Saint Abyss Continent from the rest of the Great Thousand World, placing Zhao Chen and the city’s defenders under direct attack. 252 257

During the battle, Luo Li and Jiuyou led the Heavenly Sovereigns maintaining Saint Abyss City’s Saint Grade defensive formation. Their efforts protected the city’s population, but the strain nearly exhausted the defenders. The battlefield outside suffered extensive destruction from Zhao Chen’s clash with the Heaven-Slaying Demon Emperor. 257

Observers regarded the battle as potentially decisive for the world’s fate because Zhao Chen’s continued growth could break the strategic stalemate. They feared that the enemy’s preparations would obstruct outside reinforcement, although Zhao Chen retained the Martial Ancestor’s Stone Talisman and showed no intention of using it. The supplied account leaves the broader battle unresolved. 257

World Will and Transcendence

The Great Thousand World instinctively rejects beings originating beyond its bounds. Zhao Chen’s Nine-leaf Sword Grass origin causes his breakthroughs to draw exceptional Heavenly Tribulations, though his use of spiritual energy distinguishes him from the Extraterrestrial Evil Clan. 101 134

The world’s will also suppresses the Heavenly Evil God, reducing his ability to remain at peak strength within the Great Thousand World. This suppression is a central reason the ancient defenders could preserve half of the world. 134 137

A cultivator must summon the Firmament List and leave their true name upon it to transcend Saint Grade and enter the Transcendent Saint Stage. No known contemporary expert has achieved this step. 137

The Firmament List is the manifestation of the world’s Origin Will and is visible throughout the Great Thousand World when summoned. A Transcendent Saint expert approaches the world origin and commands the mighty power of the world, producing phenomena that make such an advancement impossible to conceal. The Immortal Emperor was the world’s first expert to reach this stage. 137 219 257

Origin Will and Demonic Corruption

The world origin has no intelligence and acts through instincts of survival and development. The proliferation and growth of living beings influence its development. Despite the Extraterrestrial Evil Clan’s prolonged occupation and consolidation of the Demonic Domain, the Origin Will continues to reject them. 235

The Demonic Domain gives the invaders an established foundation within the world and complicates its rejection of them. Nevertheless, the surviving world’s suppression still limits their ability to remain for extended periods outside their occupied territory, contributing to their decision to postpone an all-out invasion until they can rescue the Heavenly Evil God. 172 231

The invaders seek to corrupt and transform the World Origin itself. Complete corruption would allow the Heavenly Evil God to escape and return to his prime. Their ultimate exploitation of the origin would drain the world’s nourishment and destroy it, after which they could move on to another target. 254 256

A great world driven toward destruction can give rise to the strongest being in its history. Recognizing Zhao Chen’s potential to become such a defender, the Extraterrestrial Evil Clan prioritizes killing him before his growth makes their defeat unavoidable. 254 256

Reincarnation

The Great Thousand World does not naturally possess reincarnation, despite being connected to Lower Planes with different laws. Tianxuan Continent, for example, allows sufficiently powerful cultivators to preserve their spiritual essence and attempt rebirth, though that process entails danger and can fail. 235

After reaching Saint Grade at the Endless Fire Domain, Zhao Chen obtained the Six Paths Reincarnation Disk, a Chaos Treasure capable of opening a dedicated Life and Death Realm and establishing reincarnation within the Great Thousand World. He envisioned using it to give fallen defenders another chance at life. 235

• Rebirth would require a surviving trace of spiritual essence, a spiritual body, or lingering will; it would not automatically restore every person who had died. 235
• Zhao Chen considered the Ancient Heavenly Emperor, Heart Demon Thunder Emperor, Ancient Undying Bird Beast Venerable, Luo God, and Immortal Emperor among the potential beneficiaries if the necessary remnants survived. 235

Major Powers

Great Thousand Palace’s Coordinating Role

Great Thousand Palace is the foremost superpower on the surface and a platform uniting the world’s many independent powers against the Extraterrestrial Evil Clan. Heavenly Sovereigns join as elders or honorary elders; the Martial Ancestor, Flame Emperor, and Sword Saint hold honorary positions and attend major discussions concerning the world’s survival. 200 258

Its organization does not impose binding authority over the other superpowers or normally intervene in their internal conflicts. Membership establishes contact and access to assistance rather than subordination. The palace relies on its own forces for routine defense and on its shared purpose and the Immortal Emperor’s legacy to assemble broader cooperation during major crises. 206

There has been no second palace master after the Immortal Emperor. Chief Elder Qin Tian, the first Demon-Slaying King, directs border defenses and reinforcement efforts. Under the founder’s rules, the palace is to dissolve once the Extraterrestrial Evil Clan has been destroyed. 200 206

Notable Sites

• Spirit Road — Trial realm created by the Five Great Academies. Its successful participants may enter the academies and pursue the Heavenly Sovereign Realm. Human participants ordinarily cannot cultivate or use spiritual energy and spiritual arts within it, instead relying on physical prowess and martial skills. Those who complete its trials receive spiritual energy empowerment. 1 2 4
• Ancient Saint Abyss — A spacetime-storm-ridden battlefield where four Late Saint Grade Heavenly Sovereigns and four of the world’s thirty-six Great Divine Abilities were lost.
