Arc 1Guixu’s Northern Sea Campaign

Lu Chen turned Guixu into a refuge with strict rules, repelled the Blackwater Dragon Clan, and sent an expedition to claim the Black Tortoise Sea-Calming Pearl. The expedition returned with Sea Devourer and the Frost Phoenix Lineage seeking shelter, while Lu Chen worried that more clans would arrive.

  • Lu Chen sheltered Lan Shuang and the Sea Spirit Clan in Guixu, then allowed them to stay under rules forbidding expansion and claims to imperial authority.
  • Lan Shuang established Guixu’s bureaus, academy, Book of Cause and Effect, and Realm Guard as refugees joined, while Lu Chen screened newcomers and concealed Guixu’s strength from Dragon Clan spies.
  • Lu Chen’s formation defeated Ao Lie’s expedition, and he ordered Ao Lie to guard Dragon-Suppressing Pass for a thousand years.
  • The Blackwater Dragon King attacked Guixu with three thousand soldiers, but Lu Chen’s Dharma Body defeated him, and Ao Lie chose to remain at the pass.
  • Lu Chen accepted Ancestor Xuan Jia and the Black-Shelled Turtle Tribe, then assigned Xuan Jia and Ao Lie to guard the pass together.
  • Lan Shuang led a Guixu expedition into the Northern Dark Water Palace, where the Sea Devourer attacked the gathered clans and the group weakened it with Guixu Water Aura.
  • Lan Shuang cleansed the Sea Devourer’s slaughter karma, Lady Mingzhu took the Black Tortoise Sea-Calming Pearl, and Ao Lie and Han Jue drove off Ao Yin when he tried to seize it.
  • Lu Chen allowed Sea Devourer to remain as a guardian and admitted Feng Li’s Frost Phoenix Lineage temporarily, while he worried that the Qilin Clan might seek refuge too.

  • Lu Chen expanded Guixu, defied the Dragon Clan’s summons, and persuaded the Ancestral Dragon to leave Guixu unmolested while offering refuge to young branches fleeing calamity.
  • Feng Li and the Frost Phoenix Lineage chose to stay in Guixu, and Yuanfeng left a feather that grew into their Frostflame Parasol Tree.

Arc 3Guixu Survives the Cataclysm

Lu Chen kept Guixu open as the Dragon-Han Cataclysm and Dao-Demon War threatened the Primordial World, sheltering survivors while preparing his Old Shell to bear the Heaven-Mending Death Tribulation. After the clans recovered and Hongjun began teaching at Purple Cloud Palace, Lu Chen used an avatar to study escape and concealment, where Di Jun and Taiyi eventually appeared before him.

  • Lu Chen opened Guixu to eligible refugees, concealed the refuge from Luohou and Hongjun, and used the Three Lives Gate to repel Luohou’s demonic strike.
  • Lu Chen sent Ao Lie, Feng Li, and Lin Yue to lead the young and wounded from the Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin Clans across Guixu’s bridges as Luohou attacked them.
  • Lu Chen’s Old Shell absorbed Luohou’s tribulation during the Dao-Demon War, reached the seventh layer of the Chaos Shell-Shedding Method, and raised his death-tribulation substitution progress to 31%.
  • After the war, Lu Chen let Ao Lie, Feng Li, and Lin Yue aid their clans without restoring their former hegemony, while Guixu established rules protecting clan identities and forbidding forced conscription.
  • Hongjun attained the Dao and summoned the Primordial World’s powers to Purple Cloud Palace, where Lu Chen sent an Old Shell avatar and chose a seat near the gates.
  • During Hongjun’s lecture, Lu Chen studied causality, space, and Grotto-Heavens, then developed methods to conceal himself and briefly shift Guixu’s external coordinates.
  • Lu Chen explained his survival-focused Dao to Tongtian, Laozi, and Yuanshi, and after several hundred more years of the sermon, Di Jun and Taiyi appeared before him.

Arc 4The Old Shell’s Mandate

Lu Chen kept Guixu independent as Di Jun built the Demon Clan and later the Demon Court, while he prepared his Old Shell Avatar to bear the fate destined for his true body. The arc ended with the Old Shell awakening a Mysterious Black Daoist avatar and a Demon Court marshal arriving to question Guixu’s place in the Ten Thousand Demons Register.

  • Lu Chen refused Di Jun and Taiyi’s offers to make Guixu part of their alliance, and later agreed that Guixu residents could register with the Demon Clan only voluntarily and could not be conscripted across the Three Lives Gate.
  • Gonggong visited Guixu to study its waters, and Lu Chen discovered that Gonggong’s future collision with Buzhou Mountain was tied to the death tribulation threatening his true body.
  • Lu Chen investigated Buzhou Mountain and learned that his true body was far more compatible than the Old Shell with bearing the Heavenly Pillar’s fate, so he began increasing the Old Shell’s identity and fate-bearing weight.
  • Lu Chen developed the Unification Shell-Nurturing Method to let the Old Shell bear karma and conceal heavenly secrets independently, without dividing his core Dao Fruit.
  • Hongjun warned Lu Chen that the Old Shell might gain true spirituality, and the Old Shell later defended itself on its own before forming a Mysterious Black Daoist avatar.
  • Di Jun established the Demon Court, became the Demon Emperor, and offered Lu Chen the title of Northern Sea Emperor while promising Guixu autonomy.
  • Lu Chen rejected the title but accepted that a Demon Court marshal could ask about Guixu’s clans, and months later the marshal arrived at Dragon-Suppressing Pass with the Register of Ten Thousand Demons.
