After that day, the convoy moved forward slowly and soon arrived before a broad gorge wreathed in black winds.

From afar, White Gorge looked like a knife scar splitting the space between two mountain peaks. At its entrance, vast amounts of threadlike black currents were constantly drawn in from every direction.

The convoy slowly halted beside the gorge, avoiding the wind mouth and finding a hollow in the bare mountain wall to shelter within.

One oval, flattened tent after another was raised. They clung close to the ground, smooth and pale, like little mushrooms growing from the hollow.

Ma Yuan and several leaders directed everyone as they arranged the tents in their respective positions. Together, they formed an even larger and more complex formation, seemingly intended for some special purpose.

The white ox carts were parked along the edge of the hollow, lined up in a row to block the violent currents and winds outside.

While Ma Yuan was overseeing the arrangements, he listened to the report from a subordinate who came running over, and his brows immediately drew tight.

"Are you sure?"

"I'm sure." The subordinate nodded solemnly.

"Understood. Go bring Yellow Bee over." Ma Yuan pondered briefly, then gave the order.

"We're using it now?" Another leader came closer and asked in a low voice.

"There's no helping it. That thing is coming. It's a bit wasteful, but safety comes first. Putting it farther ahead can reduce the casualties by quite a bit. Money can always be earned again, but if we lose lives over a little saving, that would be no good." Ma Yuan shook his head.

"True enough."

"We've been in the Yang Path for quite a while now and haven't encountered any real danger. This time, we'll have to use everything together." Another leader gave
