Nature of Yuan Jing

Yuan Jing is defined primarily by its Soul Domain. A Soul Domain establishes the cultivator's rules over an area and is considered the greatest source of a Yuan Jing cultivator's power. Without it, most Yuan Jing cultivators are only somewhat stronger than Dao Questioning cultivators unless they possess an exceptionally strong body or other special advantages 486.

• A Yuan Jing can obstruct movement and escape techniques within its coverage; a Yuan Jing cultivator can envelop fleeing opponents and prevent their escape 444.
• Its manifestation can make the surrounding air and space reject, compress, and restrain a target 399.
• Yuan Jing combat is not decided by realm alone. Soul Domains, divine abilities, magic treasures, physical strength, and endurance all affect the outcome 440 465.
• Maintaining a Yuan Jing consumes significant Spirit Qi. A cultivator can be defeated through exhaustion if their Soul Domain and techniques are forced to remain active too long 435.
• Most Yuan Jing cultivators possess some mastery of spatial rules, granting powerful escape techniques that may cover tens of miles 465.

Soul Domains

Primal Demon Realm

Lin Xin's Yuan Jing Soul Domain, formed through the Primal Battle Demon Art, is the Primal Demon Realm 461.

• Weakens opponents' attributes by roughly 10–50 points.
• May create fear demons in opponents with weak will, potentially defeating them without direct combat 483.
• Can be unfolded alongside the Silkworm White Moon Sword's half-Yuan Jing, transforming the surrounding terrain into a blood-red domain 476.
• Its effects may be offset by an opposing Soul Domain; in such circumstances, physical attributes and supernatural techniques become decisive 522.

Solidification

Kun Ji's Yuan Jing ability is solidification.

• Freezes everything within its range, including moving leaves, spores, clothing, speech, and living targets.
• Leaves Kun Ji as the sole being able to move within the solidified area 415.
• His domain also petrifies restrained targets over time 415.

Puppet Show

Inu-sha Ying's Yuan Jing, Puppet Show, controls people through black threads.

• Threads bind a target's body and spread through the surrounding space.
• Controlled victims can be made to attack allies despite being unconscious 439.
• Inu-sha Ying describes it as particularly effective against groups of Dao Questioning cultivators 439.

Half-Yuan Jing

Fifth Grade Divine Weapons and Demon Weapons may generate incomplete weapon domains known as half-Yuan Jing. These are weaker and less complete than a human cultivator's Yuan Jing, but surpass Dao Questioning-level power 433.

• Silkworm White Moon Sword — Blood Silkworm Barrier: Creates poisonous silk threads with Fourth Grade hardness that drain living beings' life force to strengthen the domain 433.
• Half-Yuan Jing has extremely high energy consumption, limiting how long it can be maintained 433.
• Lin Xin used the Silkworm White Moon Sword's clone-producing nature together with formations to create the self-destructive Moon Silkworm killing move, exhausting and killing Yuan Jing opponents 435.

Known Yuan Jing Practitioners

Limitations

• Yuan Jing does not guarantee victory; a Soul Domain may be neutralized by an equivalent domain, and cultivators can be defeated through superior techniques, magic treasures, physical strength, or attrition 465 522.
• A domain does not erase the power of a target's own physical body. Kun Ji noted that Yuan Jing can reject borrowed external forces such as Spirit Qi and Demonic Qi, but cannot eliminate innate bodily strength 431.
• Entering the realm normally involves dangerous tribulation. The Black Lotus Tribulation Cloud is specifically identified as the tribulation faced by Demonic Path cultivators condensing Yuan Jing 461.
