Garp Beats Luffy

After Oak left the Baratie, Hawk-Eye departed shortly afterward as well. He returned directly to the Grand Line without lingering in the East Blue.

Luffy's group, meanwhile, stayed behind for the time being because of Zoro's injuries and because Luffy had taken a liking to Sanji and wanted to invite him to become his ship's cook.

Two days later,

A Dog Head Warship sailed into the waters where the Baratie was anchored.

On the deck, Garp wore a furious expression. Not long ago, he had gone to the Marine 153rd Branch in the East Blue to carry out an investigation and prisoner escort. Although a minor accident had occurred during the mission—he had fallen asleep, allowing the escort target to escape, and gotten thoroughly chewed out by Sengoku over the Den Den Mushi—he had still taken the opportunity afterward to return to his hometown, Foosha Village. He had planned to take a few days off and visit his grandson, only to discover that his grandson had actually gone out to sea to become a pirate.

It made him so angry that he had pursued him overnight, tracking him all the way here.

"Once I find Luffy, I'm going to teach him a proper lesson! He actually ignored his grandfather and ran off to become a pirate! I was clearly planning to raise him into a Marine from the very beginning!"

Garp bristled with fury, his Iron Fists cracking as he clenched them.

As if he still had not vented enough, he turned his gaze toward Kuzan, who was lounging on a deck chair.

"You could have stopped that Morgan last time, but you just watched him escape! That got me chewed out by Sengoku! You ungrateful brat, after how well I treated you in the past!"
