History

Early Marine career

As a Vice Admiral, Sengoku confronted Golden Lion Shiki when Shiki came to rescue Oak from a World Government transport ship. Shiki initially dismissed Sengoku as unworthy of fighting him, but Sengoku answered by unveiling his golden Buddha Form and challenging him directly. His ordinary sword slashes could not damage Sengoku’s golden body; only Shiki’s Conqueror’s Haki Infusion finally wounded his palm. 6 8

During Admiral Kong’s capture by the Rocks Pirates, Sengoku was among the Marine officers disturbed by the World Government’s willingness to have Kong assassinated rather than allow a public execution. He and Tsuru understood the implication before the Fleet Admiral stated it openly. 62 70

Conflict with Oak

Admiral of the new generation

Following the collapse of the previous Admiral generation, Fleet Admiral Selen promoted Sengoku to Admiral under the title Wise General. Sengoku and Zephyr accepted their promotions, while Garp refused the position because he would not become a direct servant of the Celestial Dragons. 220

As an Admiral, Sengoku and Tsuru confronted Oak after Oak defeated Byrnndi World.
