The next day, when Oak Awakening, he felt sore all over.
"That bastard Newgate!"
Oak rubbed his shoulder. Although the injuries from yesterday's formal sparring match with Newgate had fully healed, the fatigue from overexertion was far from gone. So he decided to go find Newgate and trick him into buying him a drink as compensation.
But as soon as he stepped out of his room, he discovered that the island was in turmoil.
"Hey, big news! Big news!"
The pirates on the street each held a newspaper, their faces showing disbelief; some even couldn't help but shout.
What happened?
Oak was puzzled and went out into the street to find out why, when he heard someone shout again.
Shakuyaku of the Kuja Pirates is no longer captain!
The scream was filled with utter despair.
"So the chances of running into her at sea are zero now?!"
"This is utterly hopeless!"
"We set sail precisely because we dreamed of being attacked by Shakuyaku 'Kuja Pirates one day!"
"Damn it, our youth is gone forever!"
" Shakuyaku -chan~"
Countless pirates were weeping and burying their faces in their hands in the street. Oak saw this scene everywhere he went, and finally, he found out what had happened.
"So it was Shakuyaku who retired!"
According to today's newspaper, Shakuyaku, the current captain of the Kuja Pirates, has officially announced her retirement, vowing never to be a pirate again.
This news devastated countless pirates who had set sail in pursuit of her, the most beautiful woman on the sea.
"Truly Great Repressive Era!"
Oak shook his head. Shakuyaku's charm was truly extraordinary. The mere news of her retirement had such an effect. If people knew that her retirement was due to Love Sickness for Rayleigh, wouldn't they go even crazier?
Rayleigh will probably be torn to shreds by Shakuyaku's admirers!
Oak felt that he was different; he was simply lusting after Shakuyaku's body and wouldn't go crazy for Shakuyaku like these pirates.
He continued walking and arrived smoothly at a beach on the island, where Gloriosa, Linlin, and Miss Buckin were discussing the day's news, while Newgate was wiping his beloved knife Murakumogiri, nearby.
"What are you planning to do, Shakuyaku?!"
Of everyone present, the one most concerned about today's news was Gloriosa Osa, Shakuyaku had passed the position of captain of the Kuja Pirates to her.
Now that Shakuyaku is no longer the captain, he worries about the future of the Kuja Pirates and Amazon Lily, and even more about Shakuyaku's condition. He understands that Shakuyaku is probably like him, suffering from Love Sickness because she misses a certain man and has no other choice but to act this way.
"Didn't you quit your job just to chase after men, Gloriosa?!"
Linlin nestled on a large sofa, took a swig of wine from the bottle, and said...
On her shoulder stood a tiny Katakuri, and at her feet lay Katakuri's twin brother, Oven.
"In the end, will you people from Amazon Lily still be defeated by love?"
Linlin seemed to disdain this behavior of abandoning everything just to pursue a man, but she was immediately met with a rebuttal from Gloriosa.
"If having a baby is as easy as popcorn, how could you possibly understand the pain of being in love!"
Gloriosa harshly criticized Linlin for seeking out different men simply because she wanted to have children of different races. She continued to show concern for Shakuyaku.
"It's unbelievable that you also have troubles about love!"
Looking at Shakuyaku's face in the newspaper, Gloriosa once thought that with Shakuyaku's popularity on the high seas, she would never have any troubles because of love. But now it seems that almost every woman, except for someone like Linlin, is bound to encounter this issue.
"But if the person you're troubled by is Roger, I absolutely will not allow it!!"
The thought that her love interest Roger was also pursuing Shakuyaku made Gloriosa's mood sour. Although she and Shakuyaku had a good relationship, she would never allow Shakuyaku to pursue Roger.
"This guy, that guy, they're all talking about Shakky, Shakky, but you're the only one who's devoted to me, Newgate!"
Miss Buckin had been hearing nothing but discussions about Shakuyaku all day, and she was thoroughly fed up with it.
As a woman, and a beautiful one at that, she was jealous of Shakuyaku's popularity. Fortunately, her Newgate wasn't among Shakuyaku's adoring crowd. So, seeing Newgate intently wiping the Murakumogiri, she happily sidled up to him, thinking that Newgate only cared about her. But Newgate was focused on maintaining the Murakumogiri and didn't even bother to acknowledge her.
"I've never been smitten by you, so don't say anything Qiqi!"
Newgate's casual remark dealt Miss Buckin a devastating blow.
"Why?! I'm Miss Buckin, with countless suitors!!"
Miss Buckin, relentless, leaped onto Newgate's head and began relentlessly attacking him, pulling at his Whitebeard.
"That's settled then. You have so many suitors, you don't need me. I'm not interested in you at all!"
Newgate was pulled so hard he almost fell to the ground, but he still stubbornly refused to admit that he was interested in Miss Buckin.
"No, I want you!"
Miss Buckin and he continued their quarrel.
Oak arrived just in time to witness this scene, and couldn't help but glance at Newgate with a smirk.
"Damn, what a scumbag!"
He knew Newgate Oak all too well; he always claimed he had no interest in Miss Bakkin, but he never rejected her advances. Many times, he had seen the two of them leaving the same room early in the morning.
In summary, Newgate is a total jerk; he neither agrees nor refuses, his main point being that he's willing to sleep with someone, but will never take responsibility.
"You brat, what did you say?"
Oak's muttering was overheard by Newgate, who gave him a hostile look. Oak immediately responded with a provocative gesture.
"What are you glaring at me for? You think I'm afraid of you?!"
Oak put his hands on his hips, feeling that he had grown up and was no longer the naive kid that Newgate could easily manipulate when he first joined, so he spoke with much more confidence.
"Looks like you've not only gotten stronger, but you've also gotten bolder!"
Newgate felt his authority had been challenged by his younger brother, so his gaze hardened, and he immediately pulled Miss Buckin aside, ready to teach him a lesson.
Let Oak know that your older brother is still your older brother!
