Even though it was only the Beginner section, the depth, breadth, and systematic nature of its content far surpassed any materials he had previously gathered in bits and pieces.
Many details he had previously explored by instinct during practice were clearly explained here, supported by theory and data analysis.
Just like that, time quietly slipped away as Xinhai immersed himself in study. When he looked up again, Mauville City outside the window was already ablaze with lights, neon gleaming brightly enough to make the night sky seem like day.
Xinhai stretched contentedly, feeling that he had gained a great deal. Looking out at the scenery, he thought, That's enough studying for today. You can't become fat in a single bite.

Xinhai did not disturb them. He quietly packed his things, washed up briefly, and lay down as well, soon falling asleep.
