Scenery from the Cable Car

Several thick Steel type cables extended from the station building, climbing upward until they vanished into the higher mountainside shrouded in thin steam.

This was clearly a transfer station. Besides the cable car station, there was a small parking lot, a stall selling drinks and simple food, and several wooden pavilions where travelers could rest briefly.

A number of Trainers and tourists had already gathered here, some waiting for the cable car, others resting in the pavilions as they admired Mt. Chimney from different angles.

"Eevee!" (It's a cable car! Xinhai, are we taking that up?) Standing in the bicycle basket, Eevee pointed a little paw at the Steel type cables winding upward like a giant dragon and the faintly visible cable car cabins in the distance.

It was her first time seeing a real mountain cable car.

"That's right." Xinhai stopped his bicycle and put it away after Eevee jumped down. "Walking or cycling across the outer ridges of Mt. Chimney would take a long time, and some sections aren't bike-friendly at all. Taking the cable car is a good choice. It saves energy, and we can enjoy the view from the air."

Holding Eevee and accompanied by Gardevoir, he headed toward the main red building of the cable car station.

The inside of the building was spacious and bright. On one side were the ticket windows and electronic displays showing the wait time for the next cable car and various precautions. On the other was the passage leading to the platform.

Maps of Mt. Chimney's terrain, the cable car route, safety notices, and introductions to the scenic area were posted on the walls.

Xinhai approached the ticket window. Behind it sat a dark-skinned middle-aged man in a shirt bearing the cable car company's logo, wearing a hearty smile.
