The enormous black silhouette of Mt. Chimney stood silently in the distance. A faint light occasionally flickered halfway up the mountain, perhaps from the observation station.

"Eevee..." (It's so quiet...) Eevee lay on Xinhai's shoulder and spoke softly, her voice sounding especially clear on the silent street.

"At this hour, most people are still asleep," Xinhai replied quietly, quickening his pace toward Thousand Herbs Hall.

They passed through the still-dim streets, with only their footsteps echoing over the stone pavement.

Occasionally, one or two breakfast stalls glowed with light and warmth, faint sounds drifting out and lending a touch of life to the tranquil morning.

Before long, the quaint and antique Thousand Herbs Hall came into view again.

Its dark-brown wooden sign looked somewhat hazy beneath the weak dawn light. The two heavy wooden doors were tightly shut, and the "Preparing" wooden plaque hanging on them was clearly visible.

Looking ahead, Xinhai saw that seven or eight people were already waiting in line outside the shop. Seeing that the crowd was not too large, he breathed a slight sigh of relief.

"Good, there aren't many people," Xinhai murmured, leading Eevee and Gardevoir to the end of the line.

Ahead of them stood a female Trainer in her thirties. Her face looked somewhat tired, but her eyes were resolute. A steady-breathed Mightyena stood beside her.

She glanced back at Xinhai, her gaze lingering briefly on Gardevoir. She gave a slight nod of greeting, then turned back around and continued waiting quietly.

Time passed slowly in the chilly morning. The pale white of dawn gradually spread across the eastern sky, tinting it with faint orange-red and golden hues.

Lavaridge Town gradually woke up. Roosters crowed and dogs barked in the distance, while scattered pedestrians and vehicles began appearing on the streets.
