He carefully packed the not-yet-fully-ripe fruit into bags, while leaving the ripe ones for his partners to sample.
Then, he picked out a few relatively small or slightly blemished but still edible fruits and set them aside.
"These," Xinhai said, pointing at the fully ripe fruit as his partners gathered around, "we'll eat here to restore some energy. We'll take the rest with us."
"Eevee! (★ω★)" (Awesome!) Eevee was the first to respond. The pink appearance and enticing scent of the Nanab Berries and Pecha Berries had long since whetted her appetite.
Xinhai also let Mightyena out, then smiled as he handed each of his partners a Pecha Berry.
He picked up a small Nanab Berry himself and took a bite. The flesh was sweet and juicy, with the rich fruity aroma unique to volcanic regions. It was delicious.
