The next morning, sunlight streamed through gaps in the canopy into the room, casting mottled shadows across the floor.
After breakfast, Xinhai packed his backpack, placing the Metal Coat Ingots he intended to sell separately at the very top.
He glanced at Feebas in the basin—the little fellow was also full of anticipation, swimming back and forth early in the morning and looking exceptionally lively.
"Eevee?" (Xinhai, are we going now?)
Eevee jumped down from the windowsill, its large brown eyes brimming with anticipation.
It had heard Xinhai talk about today's plans last night and had been thinking about exchanging an Aptitude Potion for Feebas ever since.
"Yeah, we're going now." Xinhai slung on his backpack, picked Eevee up and placed it on his shoulder, then walked over and crouched beside the basin.
Feebas immediately swam over, poking its little head out of the water and looking at him with its round eyes.
"Don't be in such a hurry." Xinhai gently tapped its head with a finger. "I'm going to exchange for it, but it'll still take a few days before it gets delivered!"
"Puff puff!" Feebas nodded hard, wagging its tail happily.
Xinhai smiled, stood up, and left the room with Eevee.
The Fortree City League Mission Hall stood in the city center, a modern three-story building.
The glass doors opened automatically, and a wave of cool air greeted them.
The hall was bustling with people, with Trainers in all kinds of clothing handling various affairs.
Xinhai looked around, then headed straight for the staffed "Materials Recycling and Points Exchange" counter on the left side of the hall.
The line at this counter was not too long, with only five or six people ahead of him. Holding Eevee, Xinhai joined the back of the line and waited quietly.
