Seeing the water and Pokéblocks before them, the little ones immediately lowered their heads and started eating.
Eevee ate the fastest, finishing its share in just a few bites before padding over to the pond to curiously watch the Poliwag swimming about.
"Vee!" It stretched out a little paw and lightly touched the water's surface.
"Whoa! Σ(っ °Д °;)っ"
Startled, a Poliwag dove beneath the water with a swoosh, splashing up a small spray.
"Vee!" Eevee jumped back two steps in fright, its fluffy tail puffing up slightly.
Xinhai chuckled and walked over to rub its little head.
"Don't scare them, Eevee."
"Vee..." Eevee scratched its head sheepishly, but it still could not resist watching the adorable little Pokémon.
Just then, Zigzagoon, who had been quietly crouching at Xinhai's feet, suddenly stood up.
Its ears pricked up as it stared warily into the distance, letting out a faint growl.
Xinhai's gaze immediately sharpened.
"Did you find something?"
"Zig." (There are sounds of fighting. It's chaotic, and a lot of Pokémon are involved.)
Zigzagoon nodded, its watery blue eyes fixed on a direction deep within the wetlands.
Xinhai's expression grew serious as he looked in the direction it indicated—there was a relatively dense patch of reeds there, with a thick forest farther beyond.
Eevee also perked up its ears and listened closely. A moment later, it nodded at Xinhai, confirming Zigzagoon's discovery.
