"Good morning, Captain Gao." Xinhai set down his chopsticks.
"Good morning, Xinhai." Captain Gao nodded and sat across from him, holding a cup of hot tea. "How did you rest last night?"
"Very well, thank you." Xinhai smiled. "The camp's conditions are much better than I expected."
Captain Gao smiled as well, and the expression looked particularly gentle on his weathered face. "That's good."
He paused, his gaze lingering on Xinhai for a moment, his Qi carrying a hint of approval. "I heard about what happened last night. You took down a Gym-level poacher by yourself and saved several Sceptile and Grovyle. Well done."
Xinhai shook his head. "It wasn't just my doing. My partners and I did it together."
Captain Gao nodded without saying much. He merely lifted his teacup, took a sip, and rose to his feet.
"Oh, right." His voice was brief and firm. "You're headed for Lilycove City, right? Be careful on the road. Most of the poachers have been caught, but some may still be hiding."
"Understood." Xinhai nodded with a smile. "Thank you for the reminder."
"No need to thank me. Give it your all at the League Conference!" Captain Gao said with a smile, waving as he turned and left.
