The plaza in front of the Pokémon Center bustled with people, with many Trainers coming and going alongside their partners.
When those Trainers saw the Pokémon beside Xinhai, especially the Shiny Axew, they all revealed looks of surprise and envy.
Xinhai ignored their gazes. Once the glass doors slid open automatically, he led his partners inside.
The lobby of Lilycove City's Pokémon Center was exceptionally spacious. Crystal chandeliers hung from the high ceiling, while polished marble tiles covered the floor.
To the left stood the reception desk, where five Nurse Joys in pink uniforms were handling requests for Trainers;
To the right was a lounge area furnished with comfortable sofas and coffee tables, where several Trainers sat chatting;
Straight ahead were the stairs and elevators leading to the second floor, with large scenic paintings of Lilycove City hanging on either side of the staircase.
There were quite a few Trainers in the lobby, but it did not feel crowded.
The Trainers stood quietly in line and waited, while the Pokémon remained at their sides. Some looked around curiously, while others obediently lay on the floor.
"Eevee..." (There are so many people...) Eevee poked its head out from Xinhai's shoulder, looking toward the Trainers queued at the counter and letting out a sigh of amazement.
"Lilycove City is the largest city in the Hoenn Region, after all. It's normal for there to be more people." Xinhai smiled and went to line up at the reception desk.
There were still seven people ahead of him. After waiting for around five minutes, it was Xinhai's turn.
"Welcome to the Pokémon Center. How may I help you?" Nurse Joy asked with a gentle, friendly smile.
"Hello, Nurse Joy! I need a room. Sorry for the trouble." Xinhai handed over his Pokédex.
