Grovyle charged before Breloom, its right arm's leaf blade slashing diagonally upward from below. The Leaf Blade combined with Rock Smash tore through the air as it struck directly at Breloom's right waist.
Breloom reacted just as swiftly. The dark-red energy swords formed by its two claws came down in a cross-shaped slash, its Cut and Brick Break combo meeting Grovyle's Leaf Blade and Rock Smash head-on.

The instant the two moves collided, emerald green and dark-red energy violently burst from the point of impact. The scattered shockwaves rippled outward, sending dust from the ground swirling through the air.
Grovyle's leaf blade and Breloom's light swords pressed tightly against each other, their differently colored energies frantically eroding and canceling one another at the point of contact.
The two forces remained locked in a deadlock, resisting each other, each trying to overpower the other.
The muscles in Grovyle's right arm were taut, veins faintly bulging. Amber light flickered continuously over its leaf blade as it clearly kept pouring in energy;
Breloom's hands were exerting force as well. Its dark-red energy swords emitted a sizzling sound where they met the leaf blade, like real blades grinding together.
While Breloom's trainer focused on the clash between the two Pokémon's moves, Xinhai immediately commanded, "Use Screech, Grovyle!"
Almost the instant Xinhai spoke, Grovyle's mouth snapped open.
