Yake had moved in next door to May, becoming Old Yake from next door. He dropped by May's house from time to time, and life had been fairly comfortable; he had more or less settled down.

S.H.I.E.L.D.'s surveillance had been growing sparser lately, because Yake's daily routine was easy to see through: he went to the library to read during the day, returned home to play games at night, and occasionally visited next door or picked up the kid.

He did not resemble a powerful, wildly ambitious alien at all. He seemed more like a book-loving gaming shut-in, leaving Fury no choice but to assign a single agent to report Yake's movements daily. That was exactly the outcome Yake wanted.
