Background
Robin is the sole surviving child of Ohara. The World Government launched a Buster Call after discovering Ohara’s research into the Void Century, leaving her as the only survivor and branding her the “Devil Child.” During the destruction, Aokiji froze Jaguar D. Saul but allowed Robin to escape, while warning that he would remain her enemy 99 189.
Yake sought Robin out in Alabasta because she could read Poneglyphs and aid his search for historical truth. After defeating Crocodile and taking the unconscious Robin from Rainbase, he brought her to Nanohana, where she initially suspected he intended to exploit her knowledge 5 6.
Yake instead invited her to travel with him, seek Laugh Tale, and oppose the World Government’s flawed order. Robin accepted his hand and became his first official partner before the crew even had a name 6.
Appearance
Following her conquest of the Ice Element Dimension, Robin’s hair becomes snowy silver, her eyes icy blue, and her complexion noticeably fairer. She can also form clothing from ice silk 266.
- Occasionally wears glasses while studying and translating texts 157.
- Can manifest wings from arms through Fleur de Bloom: Phantom Wings 30.
- Can alter her appearance with Flower Illusion Mask, including convincingly imitating other people’s clothing 110.
Personality
Robin is intensely curious, scholarly, and patient. The pursuit of the Void Century and the Poneglyphs remains central to her identity, whether she is deciphering Alabasta’s records, translating Road Poneglyph rubbings, or examining rare libraries 6 67 123.
Initially guarded and suspicious of Yake’s motives, she develops into one of his most steadfast supporters. When Whitebeard’s crew offers to take Yake in after his defeat, Robin refuses without hesitation, declaring that Yake will overturn the world and cannot live under another captain 23.
She balances her composed, intellectual demeanor with dark humor and a willingness to intimidate others. After the Negative Hollows humiliate her on Thriller Bark, she claims Perona as the crew’s maid and promises to “properly train” her 11. As an educator, she is strict but caring, forcing Anna to study and patiently teaching Shirahoshi about the wider world 117 122.
Robin also approaches power pragmatically. When the Ancient One admits that dark power corrupted her, Robin argues that power itself is not inherently evil; its morality depends on how its wielder uses it 267.
Abilities & Skills
Flower-Fruit
Robin’s Hana Hana no Mi allows her to manifest arms, limbs, petals, and larger body parts on surfaces, targets, and around herself.
- Creates mass restraints such as Cien Fleur: Spider Web 19.
- Forms enormous striking limbs through Thousand Fleur: Gigantesco Mano 37 99.
- Generates defensive constructs including Hundred Fleur: Flower Shield, a layered cocoon of arms capable of resisting Aokiji’s freezing attacks 98.

- Uses Thousand Fleur: Scarlet Bloom: Flower Sea to bind and break Marine forces across the battlefield 98.
- Uses Flower Illusion Mask to recreate the appearance and clothing of people she has seen 110.
- Manifested limbs can be damaged by poison, and coating giant constructs in Armament Haki consumes excessive stamina 37 99.
Haki
Robin possesses both Observation Haki and Armament Haki.
- Uses Observation Haki to identify Aokiji’s position during their Marineford battle 99.
- Coats manifested arms with Armament Haki, allowing her to fight stronger opponents and protect her constructs 98 99.
- Despite her growth, she cannot defeat Aokiji in a direct fight; his greater experience and power steadily wear her down 99.
