Karin Tower Training

Goku finally climbed to the top of the tower. He looked around, but Korin was nowhere to be seen. The furnishings at the summit were simple yet peculiar, with several slender pieces of furniture scattered about. They seemed weathered by time, carrying an ancient, steady aura. Most eye-catching were the three jars placed side by side in the center of the tower's summit, each etched with ancient symbols and seemingly radiating some mysterious power.

Goku curiously approached the jars and thought, I heard these three jars can show one's past, present, and future. With a hint of excitement, he reached out and opened one of them. A strange sensation immediately surged forth, and the scene before his eyes blurred before images gradually emerged one after another.

A child who looked extremely similar to himself appeared in the images. From childhood adventures to battles against powerful enemies, everything seemed to depict the life of "Goku." However, he quickly realized that these were not his memories.

Goku thought to himself, As a transmigrator, this jar can't truly see my past and future? What I'm seeing seems to be the story of the "Goku" who belongs to this world...

His feelings grew complicated. The scenes before him were both familiar and things he had never experienced. He could not help feeling a measure of admiration and resonance for the growth and adventures of the original Goku.

Just as he was about to step away from the jar, a calm voice suddenly sounded beside his ear. "Goku, come up to the second floor."

Goku went up the stairs and arrived at the second floor at the top of the tower. There, a small white Korin was quietly waiting for him. Korin examined Goku with a smile, clearly unsurprised by his arrival.

Upon seeing Korin, Goku hurried forward to greet him. "Hello, Korin! I'm Goku. I came specifically to ask for your guidance in training!"

Korin smiled faintly and waved a hand. "I know all about you. Not only do I know that you're Master Roshi's disciple, I also know about you killing Mercenary Tao." Half-jokingly, Korin narrowed his eyes. "A kid as strong as you—what are you still coming to me to train for?"

Goku scratched his head and said seriously, "I feel like there's still a lot I don't understand about fighting. I've just been relying on brute force to power through. I heard you have a lot of experience, Korin, so I want to learn some real techniques from you."

Korin glanced at Goku in slight surprise, then nodded. "Oh? Strong, yet not arrogant. That's rare."

Korin sat upright at the top of the tower, squinting as he studied Goku. "I don't teach people easily in my lifetime."

Goku smiled, took out a capsule, and gave it a light press. A batch of fresh, plump fish appeared before Korin. Korin's eyes lit up, and he could not hide the excitement on his face. After a few light coughs, he pretended to be composed and said, "It's not like I can't teach you..."

Seeing the undisguised longing in Korin's eyes, Goku could not help laughing. "I caught all these fish from a nearby river just for you to try."

Korin could not help licking his teeth. He waved a hand as if unfazed and said, "Since you're so sincere, I'll teach you a few things." As he spoke, he swiftly gathered up the fish, gently stroking them with a highly satisfied look in his eyes.

Goku began a new round of training under Korin. Every morning, he rose amid the breeze atop the tower and underwent a series of combat drills under Korin's guidance. Every movement Korin made was filled with exquisite technique.

The most important lesson was training to sense nature. Korin brought Goku to the edge of the tower's summit, where they gazed out at the endless sky and earth. "Goku, close your eyes and feel nature," Korin said softly.

Goku closed his eyes and focused. He sensed faint streams of energy coming from every direction—the breath of life.

"Very good. Now try reaching farther," Korin continued to guide him.

Goku's awareness stretched outward, crossing countless mountains and rivers. In a distant village, he sensed children playing noisily; farther away, someone was engaged in a fierce battle. He could even sense the auras of Master Roshi and Bulma's group on Master Roshi's island.

"This is the ability to sense ki. It allows you to anticipate an opponent's actions in battle, and it also lets you distinguish the locations of friends and enemies from thousands of miles away." Korin looked at Goku with satisfaction. "You learn quickly."

After a period of training, Goku had not only made tremendous progress in his fighting techniques, but more importantly, he had learned to sense ki.

"Thank you, Korin." Goku bowed to Korin and spoke sincerely.

Goku continued, "Korin, could you give me some Senzu Beans?"

Korin shook his head, a trace of helplessness in his tone. "Senzu Beans aren't easy to grow, and there aren't many of them."

Goku was not disappointed by this. "Then I'll catch some fish to trade with you!"

Korin stared at Goku in surprise, then smiled again. "Oh? You're going to catch fish? Then go catch some."

Goku excitedly leaped down from Karin Tower and vanished into the distance in an instant. Before long, he returned with a capsule in his hand, filled with gleaming fish.

"Korin, I caught 100 big fish! Please give me 100 Senzu Beans!" Goku said happily, his eyes full of anticipation.

Korin's eyes lit up. He took the capsule and opened it. Seeing the large fish inside one after another, a satisfied smile could not help appearing at the corner of his mouth.

"You're such a good child. In that case, I'll give you 100 Senzu Beans." Korin moved the fish aside, then took out a small pouch, removed 100 Senzu Beans, and handed them to Goku.

"Thank you, Korin!" Goku accepted the Senzu Beans, feeling delighted.

Goku had already stayed at Karin Tower for quite some time. Though he had learned many techniques, he knew he still needed further training. So, he asked Korin, "Korin, I've already learned a lot, but I want an even greater breakthrough."

Korin narrowed his eyes and pondered for a moment. Then his tone turned mysterious. "Your training is indeed quite good now, but if you want a greater breakthrough, I can tell you about a place. That is—the Lookout above Karin Tower."

Upon hearing the words "Lookout," Goku pretended to be utterly confused. "The Lookout? There's actually a Lookout above Karin Tower? What kind of place is that?"

Korin nodded. "Yes. The Lookout is overseen by Kami. If a martial artist can pass the Lookout's trials, they can obtain a deeper level of power."

Goku could not help getting excited. "Can I fly up to the Lookout?"

Korin smiled faintly. "The Lookout is protected by a barrier, so you can't fly there directly. Haven't you always carried the Power Pole with you? That staff is actually the bridge connecting Karin Tower and the Lookout. As long as you use it and extend the Power Pole as you wish, it will take you directly to the entrance of the Lookout."

Goku immediately understood what Korin meant. "So as long as I make the Power Pole extend and follow its guidance, I can reach the Lookout?"

Korin nodded.

Goku bid Korin farewell and stood atop Karin Tower with the Power Pole in his hand. The staff immediately extended, as though it possessed limitless reach, piercing through layer after layer of clouds and pointing straight toward the heavens.

Along the way, Goku flew higher and higher. The clouds gradually thinned, while Karin Tower below grew smaller and smaller until it finally vanished from sight.

The Power Pole passed through the final thunderstorm zone, and a magnificent Lookout suddenly appeared before him, floating high in the sky and shrouded in a mysterious radiance.
