On the plane, Master Roshi suddenly shifted uneasily in his seat. Frowning, he murmured, "Oh dear, why do I suddenly need to take a dump...?"
As soon as he spoke, Bulma, Krillin, and Yamcha froze for a moment. Then awkward expressions appeared on their faces, and no one knew how to respond.
Bulma frowned and muttered under her breath, "Seriously, couldn't the old man have gone earlier? He's only saying it now..."
A flight attendant happened to pass by and overheard Master Roshi. With a polite smile, she reminded him, "The plane's restroom is out of order. Please hold it in."
Master Roshi wore a helpless expression. Rubbing his hands together, he muttered quietly, "Sigh, looks like I can only hold it in..."
After the plane landed, Master Roshi was practically the first one to dash out of the cabin, making a beeline for the airport restroom. Bulma, Krillin, Yamcha, and Launch waited helplessly outside the terminal.
More than half an hour later, Master Roshi finally strolled out of the restroom. He looked somewhat drained, but his face was full of relief.
Bulma complained, "What happened to you? Why did you take so long?"
Master Roshi scratched his head, looking as if it were nothing,
"Ah, people get constipated easily when they're nervous!"
Everyone stared at him speechlessly. Krillin slapped his forehead and said helplessly, "Master Mutai, you really are one strange guy."
The group took a taxi to the World Martial Arts Tournament venue. Along the way, Master Roshi gazed leisurely out the window, seemingly reminiscing about past tournaments.
When they arrived at the venue and saw the familiar towering arena, Krillin took an excited deep breath and sighed, "I really missed this place. The day is finally here! After three years of training, we'll finally see the results."
Yamcha clenched his fists. "Yeah! This time, I definitely won't lose so badly again!" Looking at Krillin, he added, "And don't underestimate me either. Just wait and see."
Bulma smiled from the side. "Everyone's gotten stronger this time. I wonder where Goku is."
She looked around, seemingly anticipating Goku's arrival.
Master Roshi went to the registration desk. After registering Krillin and Yamcha, he could not help asking the staff member, "Excuse me, has Son Goku registered?"
The staff member immediately remembered the previous tournament's champion and replied, "You mean Son Goku, the previous champion? He hasn't come to register yet."
Master Roshi frowned and muttered anxiously to himself, "That kid... Don't tell me he forgot about the World Martial Arts Tournament? He's usually so careless. Who knows what he's busy with."
Krillin and Yamcha paced back and forth by the registration desk. As they watched the clock draw closer and closer to the registration deadline, their expressions grew increasingly anxious.
"Where the heck is Goku?" Krillin could not help saying, his face full of worry.
Yamcha could not help sighing as well. "It's almost the deadline! Don't tell me he really forgot?"
Goku was sitting leisurely atop the Somersault Cloud as the distant tournament venue gradually came into view.
He glanced at it and smiled. "My timing's just right. They're probably getting anxious waiting for me."
He patted the edge of the Somersault Cloud and urged, "Somersault Cloud, a little faster!" The Somersault Cloud instantly accelerated, turning into a streak of light as it shot toward the tournament venue.
Master Roshi, Krillin, and Yamcha were anxiously waiting for Goku when three uninvited guests suddenly appeared before them—Master Crane and his disciples, Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu.
Master Crane looked Master Roshi up and down smugly, a mocking smile curling across his lips.
"Well, Master Roshi, you still dare bring your disciples to compete?" Master Crane said disdainfully,
"I think this tournament's championship will belong to my Crane Style! You'd better withdraw early, so you won't embarrass yourself."
Master Roshi gave a cold snort and fired back defiantly, "You old crow, don't get smug too soon. The champion hasn't been decided yet, so don't talk so big! Your little tricks won't scare our Kame Style!"
Master Crane sneered, folding his arms across his chest. "Hmph. Just wait and see. None of your useless disciples can compare to Tien Shinhan!"
Master Roshi glared at Master Crane and snapped back without mercy, "You old bird, your two disciples are going to lose miserably!"
As the two traded barbs, Krillin and Yamcha exchanged helpless looks, feeling rather awkward.
Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu, meanwhile, remained silent and watched Master Roshi's group coldly, as though they did not take them seriously at all.
Master Crane gave a cold snort and swaggered into the venue with Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu. Before leaving, he did not forget to turn back and continue provoking them. "Just wait, Master Roshi. After today, you'll witness the glory of the Crane Style with your own eyes!"
With only one minute left before registration closed, Goku finally arrived at the venue.
He leaped down from the Somersault Cloud and landed before Bulma, Krillin, and Yamcha. At the sight of Goku, everyone shouted in unison, "Goku!"
Goku smiled and greeted everyone. Master Roshi hurried to the registration desk and registered Goku at the very last moment.
"There, Goku's name is on the list too."
Master Roshi let out a sigh of relief, then eagerly suggested, "Now that everyone's here, how about we eat first? You need to be full to have the strength to fight!"
As soon as the words left his mouth, he remembered Goku's astonishing appetite. The smile on Master Roshi's face froze, and he could not help regretting it inwardly. I never should have made that suggestion! Goku can eat as much as dozens of people.
However, everyone was already heading shoulder to shoulder toward a nearby restaurant. Master Roshi could only follow with gritted teeth, silently praying that Goku would eat a little less this time.
After everyone had eaten their fill, they returned to the hotel.
Master Roshi suggested playing a few rounds of cards, and everyone thought it was a good idea, readily agreeing.
So Master Roshi, Goku, Krillin, Yamcha, Bulma, and Launch sat together and played cards for several hours.
However, luck never seemed to be on Master Roshi's side. He lost miserably in nearly every round, scratching his head in frustration.
After they grew tired of playing, everyone returned to their rooms to rest.
Late that night, Krillin tossed and turned in bed. Thinking about the tournament that would begin tomorrow, he was both excited and nervous, unable to fall asleep no matter what.
So he simply got up, changed into sportswear, and decided to go for a run to ease his feelings.
When he reached a park near the hotel, he suddenly heard footsteps behind him. Turning around, he saw that it was Yamcha.
Yamcha waved at him with a smile. "You can't sleep either?"
The next day, the World Martial Arts Tournament venue was packed with people. Spectators streamed in, and waves of enthusiastic cheers rose one after another, making the place incredibly lively.
The contestants headed toward the arena one after another to prepare for the upcoming preliminaries.
After parting with Goku, Yamcha, Krillin, Bulma, and Launch, he too headed backstage.
Launch suddenly noticed that Master Roshi was gone and asked Bulma in confusion, "Where's Master Roshi? He was just here. How did he suddenly disappear?"
Bulma shrugged helplessly and joked, "Don't worry about him. Maybe he went to take a dump again. He runs to the restroom every time he gets nervous."
Master Roshi had actually already changed into his classic Jackie Chun disguise and quietly blended into the competitors' area of the arena.
While Goku, Krillin, and Yamcha were preparing backstage, they suddenly spotted Master Roshi dressed as Jackie Chun!
His Jackie Chun disguise was so ridiculous that they could not help snickering.
Goku stepped forward and asked in surprise, "Old man, you're competing again?"
Master Roshi—Jackie Chun—waved a hand mysteriously and cleared his throat. "Hey, don't laugh, don't laugh! I came specifically to test the results of Goku's training over the past few years."
He pretended to be unconcerned as he raised his chin, but inwardly he thought, As the master, how can I let my disciples look down on me? I secretly underwent special training over the past three years. This time, I'll show Goku and the others what I'm made of!
