Half an hour later, Angel Island, Angel Coast
As the core island of God's Country, Angel Island had entered the highest state of alert. Elite Guardian Force members had been deployed here to establish a defensive line and prepare to confront the audacious rebels.
"Hey, Captain Leo, was it really appropriate to bring Wiper along on such a dangerous mission...?"
(PS: The original work never mentioned Wiper's father's name, or perhaps I just couldn't find it. Leo is an original name. Wiper was originally supposed to be the captain here, but I found out he's only twelve now, so I changed it to his father.)
A burly Guardian Force member in the standard white uniform of God's Country looked at the small but stubborn-eyed child beside his captain and could not help speaking up.
"Yeah, Captain. Wiper is still so young. It's too early for him to be on a battlefield."
The other members chimed in as well, concern written across their faces.
Captain Leo was a tall Sky Island native with a resolute face. He did not answer his men's questions directly. Instead, he crouched down, rubbed his son's little head wrapped in a bandana, and asked steadily:
"Wiper, tell your uncles. Will you hold everyone back?"
Twelve-year-old Wiper tightened his grip on the cannon nearly as tall as he was. His little face was taut as he nodded heavily, his voice young but remarkably firm:
"Of course not! Father! I've trained with you for a long time already. I'm a qualified warrior now! I want to protect God's Country with you!"
A gratified smile appeared on Leo's face as he vigorously ruffled his son's hair.
"Now that's dependable! Just what I'd expect from my son!"
Watching the unquestionable exchange between father and son, the other Guardian Force members
