Adams looked at the innocent little creature and could not help but smile inwardly.
What an easily trusting little guy.
He took the opportunity to probe further.
"By the way, Padong, do you know where the nearest island is? I need to find some cooking tools to prepare this meat. Eating it raw isn't exactly a pleasant experience."
When Adams was on his own, eating Sea Kings raw was commonplace. His evolved physique was enough to ignore parasites and viruses.
But he needed to prepare cooked food for Ulti and Page One, and he also wanted to confirm something.
If this simple-minded little guy already had an ability, it definitely would not keep it hidden.
At his words, Padong immediately waved his tiny paws.
"There's no need to go through all that trouble looking for an island! I can make them!"
As Ulti and Page One watched in amazement, a small puff of white smoke exploded from Padong's palm with a poof.
When the smoke cleared, several utterly ordinary emerald-green leaves appeared in his paw.
Padong tossed the leaves into the air, and they burst into even more smoke with several more poofs.
The smoke quickly dispersed, revealing a complete set of cooking tools where the leaves had been, including fire-starting equipment and heating tools.
Without betraying anything in his expression, Adams picked up the tools and inspected them. He found that their texture was indistinguishable from real objects.
He skillfully lit a fire, set up a grill, selected the fattest cut of Sea King meat, and began preparing it.
His movements remained practiced and elegant. Before long, the rich aroma of roasting meat filled the platform. He handed the first steak, charred on the outside and tender within, sizzling with fat, to Ulti, who had already been swallowing repeatedly.
