Background / History

The Lu Family is a major Great Wilderness clan based on a divine mountain rich in spiritual energy, medicinal plants, immortal cranes, and exotic beasts. Its main hall hosts the Rite of Passage undertaken by every member at the age of six; the result determines whether a child is cultivated as a core talent or assigned to expand the family line. 1

Its young elites are organized as Sequences. A Sequence receives broad access to the clan’s resources, cultivation methods, divine abilities, and even ancestral ultimate arts, while being assigned a private residence and loyal guards. 4 The family’s Thirteenth Sequence, Lu Qingyun, was granted Ling Jue Hall and unrestricted study privileges after his Rite of Passage. 4

The family also subjects its prodigies to an extreme external trial. At ten years old, chosen youths are scattered across the Great Wilderness and must survive without family guards, resources, magic tools, talismans, influence, or even the Lu name; only those who return are regarded as true sons of heaven. 14 18

The Lu Family is notably retaliatory toward attacks on its descendants. When the Chen Family killed one of its prodigies in violation of the Great Wilderness Covenant, the Sixth Ancestor ordered the Chen Family exterminated. 22 After the Ming Family’s actions led to the death of Lu Yun, seven Lu Family ancestor-rank Supremes ambushed and killed a Ming Family Ancestor. 23

Lu Qingyun’s repeated killings of outside prodigies later provoked pressure from other factions, leading the family to keep him out of the Great Wilderness for eight years despite Lu Changming’s objections. 31 The First Ancestor subsequently launched attacks on the Lin Family both in retaliation for threats against Lu Qingyun and to secure badly needed cultivation resources. 64 65

Within the Immortal Palace World, the Lu Family seized the entire Blood Moving Realm after Lu Qingyun annihilated the Lin Family’s forces there. This expansion alarmed the Ming Family, which viewed the realm’s resources and the Lu Family’s growing influence as an existential threat. 97 98

During later crises, the clan protected its Divine Mountain with its long-standing Clan Protection Array. Its First and Sixth Ancestors continued to treat Lu Qingyun as the family’s central hope, even preparing to resist the wider Immortal Realm for the Great Wilderness’ survival. 176 189 204 Lu Qingyun’s eventual return as an Immortal King was received by the First Ancestors and core members at the Divine Mountain. 271

Ancestors and elders

The family is governed by powerful Ancestors and elders, including at least nine Supremes who guard the clan. 50 65

• First Ancestor — The clan’s leading Ancestor, also called “Savage Lu.” He personally supports Lu Qingyun, wages war for resources, and later gains power comparable to an Immortal King by absorbing an Immortal King-aura finger bone. 64 66 182
• Sixth Ancestor — Formerly encountered by Lu Qingyun as an old fisherman. He oversees trials, defends family prodigies, led retaliation against the Chen and Ming Families, and frequently accompanies Lu Qingyun outside the clan. 3 14 22 77

Sequences are the family’s recognized elite descendants. They are granted exceptional resources and are expected to bear exceptional pressure and responsibility in return. 4 14

Retainers

Guards and attendants assigned to a Sequence are generally recruited from outside the Lu Family. They receive Soul Imprints that bind their loyalty permanently to the Sequence they serve. 4
