Background

The Great Wilderness is a vast cultivation world stretching hundreds of millions of miles. Spiritual energy permeates even its wilderness, where ordinary weeds can possess medicinal value coveted by small tribes. Divine mountains, immortal cranes, exotic beasts, and beings regarded as gods are part of its natural order. 1

Its early power structure was dominated by four great families: the Lu, Ling, Ming, and Lin Families. The Lu Family was among the four strongest and used the Great Wilderness itself as the proving ground for its descendants, dispersing prodigies across its dangerous regions without guards, resources, or Dao Protectors. 1 14

The arrival of the Immortal Palace transformed the world. The enormous palace initially devoured the Great Wilderness's essence before opening access to a mysterious realm through consciousness. Its later collapse extinguished the Divine Souls of everyone inside it and ended the immediate hope of attaining immortality, provoking widespread hostility toward the Lin Family. 91 92 174

Following the Ming Family's annihilation, the Lu and Ling Families remained as the principal powers. Lu Qingyun became the undisputed foremost figure of the Great Wilderness, ordering factions to surrender Immortal Divine Medicines and effectively making the world the Lu Family's domain. 207

Later revelations established that the Great Wilderness was not native to its surrounding Chaos Domain. It had hidden and lain dormant for endless ages after an ancient war, retaining connections to the Great Wilderness Lineage of the Lost World. 298 300 302
