Nameless stepped forward and pulled out the two daggers. "So it really was seven inches from the head."
The rat had looked like a snake, so he had instinctively aimed for the spot seven inches from its head. The strike had killed it instantly.
"That was incredible! Is that another Rescue Team ability?" Wang Qiang asked excitedly.
Nameless looked up at Wang Qiang, speechless. Wang Qiang said sheepishly, "Wait... it isn't?"
"It can't be!" Jing Xiu said, caught between laughter and tears.
Nameless kicked the Mutant Rat back into the vent. "Find something to block this as soon as you can. If there's one, there may be more. You'll be in trouble if I'm not here."
"Right. I'll have someone seal it up now," Jing Xiu said with a nod.
It was fortunate Nameless had come with them. If Jing Xiu and his two students had encountered the Mutant Rat alone, there was no telling how it would have ended.
They returned to the warehouse, where Nameless and Jing Xiu continued checking for hazards. The place had quite a few; these people had simply been lucky enough not to encounter them yet.
Of course, there might have been enough food outside that the mutated monsters had not grown hungry enough to come scavenging here.
After a full day's work, Nameless had dealt with every hidden danger in the warehouse and mapped out the best escape route.
The next morning, after breakfast, Nameless said goodbye to everyone.
"Mr. Nameless, are you sure you can't stay?" Jing Xiu asked reluctantly.
He knew what Nameless was capable of. If Nameless stayed, Jing Xiu would gladly let him lead the group. Nameless could surely guide everyone toward a better future than Jing Xiu could.
